Abstract

An organ derived from genetic material is inserted in a patient's body. Genetic material is inserted at a selected site in the body to grow an organ.

         6 . A method of growing a new portion of a pre-existing heart comprising the steps of placing a growth factor in a body of a human patient and growing new cardiac muscle and growing a new artery in said heart.  
     
     
         7 . The method of  claim 6 , wherein said growth factor comprises a multifactorial and non-specific cell.  
     
     
         8 . The method of  claim 6 , wherein said growth factor is placed in said body by intravenous injection.  
     
     
         9 . The method of  claim 7 , wherein said cell is placed in said body by intravenous injection.  
     
     
         10 . The method of  claim 6 , wherein said growth factor is placed in said body by intraluminal injection.

         16 . The method of  claim 14 , wherein said stem cell is placed in said body by intravenous injection.  
     
     
         17 . The method of  claim 14 , wherein said stem cell is placed in said body by intraluminal injection.  
     
     
         18 . The method of  claim 14 , wherein said stem cell is placed in said body by an angioplasty balloon.
