Abstract
A portable terminal displays a menu screen in which small screens respectively corresponding to categories are shown on display positions of a display unit, wherein the display positions respectively correspond to operation positions of an operation panel.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . An electric device comprising:
a display unit displaying a screen; an operation panel having a plurality of keys; and a display control unit controlling display of:
a first menu screen having a plurality of screens corresponding to a plurality of categories associated with the plurality of keys of the operation panel, the first menu screen being displayed in response to a predetermined menu display operation performed on the operation panel, where the screens are displayed on each of a plurality of display positions of the display unit that are respectively associated with the plurality of keys, and
a second menu screen corresponding to one of the categories associated with one of the screens displayed on one of the display positions of the display unit, the second menu screen being displayed in response to an associated one of the keys being operated in a state when the first menu screen is displayed.
2 . The electronic device according to claim 1 , wherein the display control unit displays a predetermined idle screen on the display unit after the electronic device is turned on, and displays the first menu screen having the screens superimposed on the idle screen in response to the menu display operation.
3 . The electronic device according to claim 1 , wherein in response to the key being operated in the state that the first menu screen is displayed on the display unit together with image information varying among the categories, the display control unit displays the second menu screen having a menu corresponding to a category provided together with the image information of the menu associated with the category corresponding to the operated key.
4 . A method of displaying menus responsive to operation made on an electronic device, the method comprising:
displaying a first menu screen having a plurality of screens corresponding to a plurality of categories associated with a plurality of keys provided in an operation panel of the electronic device, in response to a predetermined menu display operation performed on the operation panel, where the screens are displayed on each of a plurality of display positions provided in a display unit of the electronic device that are respectively associated with the plurality of keys; and displaying a second menu screen corresponding to one of the categories associated with one of the screens displayed on one of the display positions of the display unit, in response to an associated one of the keys being operated in a state when the first menu screen is displayed.
5 . A program storage medium that stores a program causing an electronic device to execute a process for displaying menus, the process comprising:
displaying a first menu screen having a plurality of screens corresponding to a plurality of categories associated with a plurality of keys provided in an operation panel of the electronic device, in response to a predetermined menu display operation performed on the operation panel, where the screens are displayed on each of a plurality of display positions provided in a display unit of the electronic device that are respectively associated with the plurality of keys; and displaying a second menu screen corresponding to one of the categories associated with one of the screens displayed on one of the display positions of the display unit, in response to an associated one of the keys being operated in a state when the first menu screen is displayed.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
