Abstract
A child car seat includes a base to be arranged on a seat cushion of a vehicle and connected to an anchor provided on the vehicle, a seat body for a child, and a lock mechanism for locking the seat body to the base body to be prevent rotation therefrom. The base has a base body and upright members extending upright from two sides of the base body, and the seat body has a supporting shaft with an axial line parallel to a line extending between the upright members. The seat body is rotatably supported at upper portions of the upright members via the supporting shaft. The lock mechanism unlocks when a forward force equal to or greater than a predetermined magnitude is applied to the seat body to allow the seat body to rotate with respect to the supporting shaft.

a base to be arranged on a seat cushion of a vehicle and connected to an anchor provided on the vehicle, the base having a base body and upright members extending upright from two sides of the base body, a seat body having a supporting shaft with an axial line parallel to a line extending between the upright members, the seat body being rotatably supported at upper portions of the upright members via the supporting shaft, and a lock mechanism for locking the seat body to the base body to be prevent rotation therefrom, the lock mechanism unlocking when a forward force equal to or greater than a predetermined magnitude is applied to the seat body to allow the seat body to rotate with respect to the supporting shaft.
2 . The child car seat according to claim 1 , wherein the lock mechanism comprises an engaged member provided on the seat body; an engaging member provided on the base body to be displaceable between an engaging posture engaging with the engaged member and a disengaging posture; and an urging member for urging the engaging member to take the engaging posture.
3 . The child car seat according to claim 2 , wherein the engaging member is displaced against an urging force by the urging member when the forward force equal to or greater than the predetermined magnitude is applied to the seat body to disengage the engaging member from the engaged member.
4 . The child car seat according to claim 3 , wherein the engaged member is a lock bar provided on a bottom surface portion of the seat body and extending in a lateral direction of the child car seat,
the engaging member is rotatably supported to the base body by an axis having an axial line extending in the lateral direction of the child car seat, and includes a lock bar receiving groove extending parallel to the axial line of the axis, and the seat body is locked when the lock bar is engaged with the lock bar receiving groove and is located at a level lower than the axis and the seat body is unlocked when the engaging member is rotated so that the lock bar is positioned in front of the axis.

The child car seat according to claim 4 , wherein the base body includes a projecting portion projecting upward from an upper surface thereof, the engaging member being arranged inside the projecting portion, the projecting portion having a slit to allow the lock bar to enter therein to engage the engaging member.
6 . The child car seat according to claim 5 , wherein the seat body includes a recess on a bottom surface thereof for allowing the projecting portion to enter therein, and the lock bar is provided to extend across the recess.

The child car seat according to claim 5 , wherein the slit is provided in a front surface and two side surfaces of the projecting portion extending continuously; and the slit in the side surface comprises an inclined slit portion inclining downward toward a rear and an innermost slit portion continuing from the inclined slit portion and extending rearward substantially parallel to fore-and-aft direction of the base body.
8 . The child car seat according to claim 1 , wherein the upright member includes a receiving portion for receiving the supporting shaft, and a pressing member for pressing the supporting shaft in the receiving portion rearward.
9 . The child car seat according to claim 8 , wherein
the receiving portion is a bearing recess for receiving the supporting shaft from above, the bearing recess has a bottom portion extending in a fore-and-aft direction so as to allow the supporting shaft to move forward when the seat body is moved forward, the bearing recess has an entrance smaller in width in the fore-and-aft direction than the bottom portion.
10 . The child car seat according to claim 8 , wherein the receiving portion is an elongated hole extending in a fore-and-aft direction for allowing insertion of the supporting shaft.
11 . The child car seat according to claim 8 , further comprising a shell holder, for holding the seat body, having an elongated hole, wherein the supporting shaft is inserted through the elongated hole to extend in a fore-and-aft direction.
12 . The child car seat according to claim 2 , wherein
the engaged member is a lock bar provided on a bottom surface portion of the seat body and extending in a lateral direction of the child car seat, the engaging member comprises a base body portion supported by the base at a lower end thereof so as to be capable of rotating in a fore-and-aft direction and an overhung portion overhung from an upper end side of the base body portion toward a front, the overhung portion includes an inclined surface inclined downward toward the front, and the urging member urges an upper end side of the base body portion toward the front.

The child car seat according to claim 12 , wherein the lock bar is arranged such that when the lock bar is moved downward with respect to the engaging member from above, the lock bar abuts against the inclined surface of the overhung portion and is moved downward to a level lower than the overhung portion while pushing the overhung portion backward against an urging force from the urging member, and then the overhung portion is restored toward the front by the urging force of the urging member and is engaged with the upper side of the lock bar so that the seat body is locked with respect to the base.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
