Abstract

A handgun carrier is provided for suspending a handgun. The handgun carrier has a grip to be affixed to a frame of the handgun. A garment attachment device extends from the grip for attaching to a piece of apparel and suspends the handgun from the piece of apparel to a natural body depression formed in a groin area being a junction of a lower torso and upper thigh.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A handgun carrier for suspending a handgun, the handgun carrier comprising:
a grip to be affixed to a frame of the handgun; and a garment attachment device extending from said grip for attaching to a piece of apparel and suspending the handgun from the piece of apparel to a natural body depression formed in a groin area being a junction of a lower torso and upper thigh.

2 . The handgun carrier according to claim 1 , wherein said grip has a storage track formed therein and said garment attachment device being stored in said storage track in a stored position.

3 . The handgun carrier according to claim 2 , wherein said garment attachment device has an elongated portion and a hook end extending from said elongated portion, said hook end provided for engaging the piece of apparel when said garment attachment device is in an extended position.

4 . The handgun carrier according to claim 3 , wherein said garment attachment device is formed of metal.

5 . The handgun carrier according to claim 3 , wherein said elongated portion has a cut-out formed therein and said hook end has a cut-out formed therein.

6 . The handgun carrier according to claim 2 , wherein:
said garment attachment device has a grip point for assisting in moving said garment attachment device from the stored position to an extended position; and said storage track having an access hole for receiving said grip point and providing greater access to said grip point.

7 . The handgun carrier according to claim 2 , further comprising a hinge plate having a hinge sleeve connected to said grip, a portion of said garment attachment device being housed in said hinge sleeve and functioning as a hinge pin, said hinge sleeve and said hinge pin defining a hinge, said hinge allowing said garment attachment device to articulate between the stored position and an extended position.

8 . The handgun carrier according to claim 7 , wherein said hinge allows said garment attachment device to articulate in both an X-direction and a Y-direction.

9 . The handgun carrier according to claim 8 , wherein said hinge has an axis that biases an angle between a surface of said grip and an angle of a center of gravity of the handgun.

10 . The handgun carrier according to claim 2 , wherein said grip has a concave upper shoulder.

11 . The handgun carrier according to claim 2 , wherein said grip is formed from two pieces that are fixed to each other.

12 . The handgun carrier according to claim 11 , wherein said grip is made of a material selected from the group consisting of plastic, rubber, rubber-plastic compounds, and composites.

13 . The handgun carrier according to claim 7 , wherein said hinge plate has an opening formed therein for receiving a suspension bolt and nut for securing said hinge plate to said grip.

14 . The handgun carrier according to claim 2 , wherein said grip includes a plate formed of a flexible material and said plate biasing said hook end to remain in the stored position when said hook end is in said storage track.

15 . The handgun carrier according to claim 2 , wherein said grip is formed to fit a revolver.

16 . The handgun carrier according to claim 2 , wherein in the stored position, said garment attachment device is flush with a surface of said grip.

17 . The handgun carrier according to claim 2 , wherein in the stored position, said garment attachment device is below a surface of said grip.

18 . The handgun carrier according to claim 10 , wherein said concave upper shoulder extends at least ½ inch out from said handgun.

19 . The handgun carrier according to claim 7 , wherein said garment attachment device suspends and allows the handgun to move in and out and left and right in the natural body depression.

20 . The handgun carrier according to claim 7 , wherein said hinge has an axis chosen as a bisect point of an axis of the hook end in an extended position and an axis of the hook end in the stored position.
