Genital support device

Abstract

The genital support device is a device for comfortably supporting male genitalia. The device may be incorporated in briefs or may be worn as a separate piece. The device includes a hammock-like structure having pouches to house the testicles therein. A front wall of the structure is V-shaped to allow the penis to be positioned thereover. A soft lining is disposed adjacent the pouches to afford comfortable protection for the scrotum area. Plural straps extend from the hammock for attaching the device to a pair of briefs or to an elastic waistband.

1 . A support device for male genitalia, comprising: 
 a hammock structure, said hammock structure having a first end, a second end and a V-shaped front wall;    a pair of pouches formed in said hammock adapted for housing and supporting a pair of testicles;    a first pair of straps attached to and extending from said hammock adjacent said first end; and    a second pair of straps attached to and extending from said hammock adjacent said second end.    
   
   
       2 . The support device according to  claim 1 , wherein said hammock is fabricated from a lightweight mesh material.  
   
   
       3 . The support device according to  claim 1 , further comprising a soft lining disposed in said hammock adjacent said pair of pouches.  
   
   
       4 . The support device according to  claim 1 , wherein said hammock is fabricated from a biodegradable material.  
   
   
       5 . A support device for male genitalia, comprising: 
 a hammock structure, said hammock structure having a first end, a second end and a V-shaped front wall;    a pair of pouches formed in said hammock adapted for housing and supporting a pair of testicles;    a first pair of straps attached to said hammock, said first pair of straps having distal ends extending from said first end of said hammock; and    a second pair of straps having distal ends, said distal ends of said second pair of straps extending from said second end of said hammock.    
   
   
       6 . The support device according to  claim 5 , further including a pair of briefs having an elastic waistband, the distal ends of said first pair of straps and the distal ends of said second pair of straps being attached to the elastic waist band of said pair of briefs.  
   
   
       7 . The support device according to  claim 6 , wherein said hammock is fabricated from a lightweight mesh material.  
   
   
       8 . The support device according to  claim 6 , further comprising a soft lining disposed in said hammock adjacent said pair of pouches.  
   
   
       9 . The support device according to  claim 5 , further including an elastic waistband, the distal ends of said first pair of straps and the distal ends of said second pair of straps being attached to said elastic waist band.  
   
   
       10 . The support device according to  claim 9 , wherein said hammock is fabricated from a lightweight mesh material.  
   
   
       11 . The support device according to  claim 9 , further comprising a soft lining disposed in said hammock adjacent said pair of pouches.  
   
   
       12 . A support device for male genitalia, comprising: 
 a hammock structure fabricated from biodegradable material, said hammock structure having a first end, a second end and a V-shaped front wall;    a pair of pouches formed in said hammock for housing and supporting a pair of testicles;    a first pair of straps attached to said hammock, said first pair of straps having distal ends extending from said first end of said hammock; and    a second pair of straps having distal ends, said distal ends of said second pair of straps extending from said second end of said hammock.    
   
   
       13 . The support device according to  claim 12 , further comprising a soft lining disposed in said hammock adjacent said pair of pouches.  
   
   
       14 . The support device according to  claim 13 , further including clip-on members defining the distal ends of said first pair of straps and said second pair of straps.
