Abstract

A tire comprises a sidewall provided with a mark region for displaying at least one mark including at least one of a sold mark and an outline mark, the mark region is provided with serration made up of serration slots and ridges which are drawn up in lines, the mark is formed by discontinuous parts of the serration, wherein the discontinuous parts of the serration are (1) discontinuous parts of serration slots only or (2) discontinuous parts of ridges only or (3) discontinuous parts of serration slots and discontinuous parts of ridges, wherein the discontinuous part of the serration slot is a shallow part formed within the serration slot and having a top face extending across a corresponding part of the mark in substantially parallel with a tire sidewall surface.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A tire comprising:
a sidewall provided with a mark region for displaying at least one mark each being a solid mark or alternatively an outline mark, the mark region being defined as a serrated region provided with serration made up of substantially parallel, continuous serration slots and ridges therebetween, said continuous serration slots inclined at a constant angle (theta) in a range of from 0 to 45 degrees with respect to the tire radial direction, and the mark formed by discontinuous parts of the serration, the discontinuous parts of the serration are discontinuous parts of ridges only.

2 . The tire according to claim 1 , wherein the mark region further includes another kind of mark which is formed by a protrusion protruding from the serration over the tops of the ridges and having the same shape as the shape of the mark.

3 . The tire according to claim 1 , wherein the mark region is an annular region that extends continuously around the tire axis.

4 . The tire according to claim 1 , wherein the breaking parts of the ridges are substantially the same depth as the bottom of the serration slots.

5 . The tire according to claim 1 , wherein the height of the ridges is in a range of from 0.2 to 0.8 mm.

6 . The tire according to claim 1 , wherein the pitches of the serration are constant and not more than 1.0 mm at the radially inner end of the mark region.

7 . The tire according to claim 1 , wherein the breaking parts of the ridges which correctively forms the mark have depths substantially the same as the bottom of the serration slots and lengths such that, depending on the view angle, the ridges appear to continue even at the breaking parts and thereby the visibility of the mark is lowered.

8 . The tire according to claim 1 , wherein the height of the ridges is in a range of from 0.2 to 0.8 mm, the pitches of the serration are constant and not more than 1.0 mm at the radially inner end of the mark region, and the breaking parts of the ridges which correctively forms the mark have depths substantially the same as the bottom of the serration slots and lengths such that, depending on the view angle, the ridges appear to continue even at the breaking parts and thereby the visibility of the mark is lowered.
