Abstract

An inflatable pad includes: a first pad piece formed with a plurality of first holes; a second pad piece stacked on the first pad piece and formed with a plurality of second holes; and a plurality of tension pieces, each of which is connected sealingly to hole edges of a respective first hole and a respective second hole so as to form an air passage extending through the tension piece, the respective first hole, and the respective second hole.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . An inflatable pad adapted to be placed on a mattress body, said inflatable pad comprising:
a first pad piece having a first peripheral edge and formed with a plurality of first holes, each of which has a first hole edge; a second pad piece having a second peripheral edge, and formed with a plurality of second holes, said second pad piece being stacked on said first pad piece in such a manner that said first holes are aligned with said second holes, respectively, each of said second holes having a second hole edge; and a plurality of tension pieces disposed between said first and second pad pieces, each of said tension pieces having opposite first and second open ends that respectively have first and second end edges aligned with a respective one of said first holes and a respective one of said second holes, said first end edge of said first open end of each of said tension pieces and said first hole edge of the respective one of said first holes being sealed together and said second end edge of said second open end of each of said tension pieces and said second hole edge of the respective one of said second holes being sealed together so as to form an air passage extending through a respective one of said tension pieces, a respective one of said first holes, and a respective one of said second holes; wherein said first and second peripheral edges are sealed together so as to form an enclosed space between said first and second pad pieces.

2 . The inflatable pad as claimed in claim 1 , wherein said first pad piece is formed with a plurality of first recesses, each of which surrounds said first hole edge of a respective one of said first holes, and a plurality of first bumps alternately disposed with said first recesses, said second pad piece being formed with a plurality of second recesses, each of which surrounds said second hole edge of a respective one of said second holes, and a plurality of second bumps alternately disposed with said second recesses.

3 . The inflatable pad as claimed in claim 2 , further comprising a flexible pad skirt that extends from a sealing juncture between said first and second peripheral edges.

4 . The inflatable pad as claimed in claim 1 , further comprising an air valve mounted on a selected one of said first and second pad pieces.

       5 . A mattress assembly comprising:
a mattress body; and an inflatable pad placed on said mattress body and including a first pad piece having a first peripheral edge, and formed with a plurality of first holes, each of which has a first hole edge, a second pad piece having a second peripheral edge, and formed with a plurality of second holes, said second pad piece being stacked on said first pad piece in such a manner that said first holes are aligned with said second holes, respectively, each of said second holes having a second hole edge, and a plurality of tension pieces disposed between said first and second pad pieces, each of said tension pieces having opposite first and second open ends that respectively have first and second end edges aligned with a respective one of said first holes and a respective one of said second holes, said first end edge of said first open end of each of said tension pieces and said first hole edge of the respective one of said first holes being sealed together and said second end edge of said second open end of each of said tension pieces and said second hole edge of the respective one of said second holes being sealed together so as to form an air passage extending through a respective one of said tension pieces, a respective one of said first holes, and a respective one of said second holes; wherein said first and second peripheral edges are sealed together so as to form an enclosed space between said first and second pad pieces.

6 . The mattress assembly as claimed in claim 5 , wherein said mattress body has a peripheral edge that is sealingly connected to a sealing juncture between said first and second pad pieces.

7 . The mattress assembly as claimed in claim 5 , wherein said first pad piece is formed with a plurality of first recesses, each of which surrounds said first hole edge of a respective one of said first holes and each of which is spaced apart from said mattress body, and a plurality of first bumps alternately disposed with said first recesses and in contact with said mattress body.

8 . The mattress assembly as claimed in claim 7 , wherein said second pad piece is formed with a plurality of second recesses, each of which surrounds said second hole edge of a respective one of said second holes, and a plurality of second bumps alternately disposed with said second recesses, each of said first recesses being in fluid communication with a respective one of said second recesses through a respective one of said air passages.

9 . The mattress assembly as claimed in claim 5 , further comprising a flexible pad skirt that extends from a sealing juncture between said first and second peripheral edges.

10 . The mattress assembly as claimed in claim 5 , wherein said mattress body is inflatable and is provided with an air valve.

11 . The mattress assembly as claimed in claim 5 , further comprising an air valve mounted on a selected one of said first and second pad pieces.
