Abstract
A chemical toilet comprising a housing having an aperture providing access to an interior compartment of the housing. The interior compartment of the housing accommodating a toilet with an opening communicating with a storage tank. An exterior wall of the housing having a recess pumping coupling and a lower portion of the storage tank having a tank pumping coupling and the recess and tank pumping couplings being interconnected with one another by a pumping conduit to facilitate pumping of human waste and liquid from the storage tank via the pumping conduit during servicing of the chemical toilet. At least one spray nozzle is located within the storage tank and a fresh water conduit interconnects the at least one spray nozzle with a supply of fresh water to facilitate spraying of the interior of the storage tank with fresh water during the pumping operation.

21 . A chemical toilet comprising:
a housing having an aperture therein providing access to an interior compartment of the housing, and the interior compartment of the housing having a toilet with a toilet opening directly communicating with an interior of a storage tank; an exterior wall of the housing having a wall pumping coupling, a lower-most portion of the storage tank having a tank pumping coupling, the wall pumping coupling and the tank pumping coupling being interconnected by a pumping conduit to facilitate pumping of human waste and liquid from the storage tank during servicing of the chemical toilet by a service vehicle; and a base surface of the storage tank being contoured to facilitate channeling of human waste and other liquid, during cleaning of the storage tank, toward and into a fixed inlet of the tank pumping coupling, forming a portion of a vertical lower most portion of the base surface, to facilitate channeling and flow of the human waste and liquid contained within the storage tank into the inlet of the tank pumping coupling during servicing of the chemical toilet.
22 . The chemical toilet according to claim 21 , wherein a recess formed in the exterior wall of the housing, the wall pumping coupling and a fresh water recess supply coupling are both accommodated within the recess;
at least one spray nozzle is located within the storage tank and a fresh water conduit interconnects the fresh water recess supply coupling with the at least one spray nozzle to facilitate spraying of an interior of the storage tank with water during servicing of the chemical toilet.
23 . The chemical toilet according to claim 22 , wherein a plurality of spray nozzles are located within an interior of the storage tank, and the plurality of spray nozzles spray a desired surface of the storage tank to facilitate cleansing thereof.
24 . The chemical toilet according to claim 23 , wherein the plurality of spray nozzles are connected to one another by a common manifold.

The chemical toilet according to claim 21 , wherein the chemical toilet includes a pivotable seat and a pivotable lid which both overlie the toilet opening, and the lid is pivotable relative to the seat, and the wall pumping coupling is located horizontally above both the storage tank and the tank pumping coupling to prevent leakage of the human waste and liquid via the wall pumping coupling.
26 . The chemical toilet according to claim 21 , wherein a urinal is accommodated within the interior compartment of the chemical toilet, and the urinal is coupled to the storage tank by a urinal drainage conduit to convey fluid from the urinal to the storage tank.
27 . The chemical toilet according to claim 21 , wherein the inlet of the tank pumping coupling communicates with an elongate trough, located at the lower-most portion of the base surface, to facilitate flow and pumping of the human waste and liquid from the storage tank.
28 . The chemical toilet according to claim 27 , wherein a shield is supported within the storage tank adjacent the trough, and the shield prevents an undesired object from flowing into the trough.
29 . The chemical toilet according to claim 28 , wherein the shield is attached to a side wall of the storage tank and is located vertically above the trough, and the shield is spaced from the base surface by a distance of between ½ inch to 2 inches.
30 . The chemical toilet according to claim 21 , wherein one of a screen and a grating overlies the trough for preventing an undesired object from flowing into the trough.
31 . The chemical toilet according to claim 21 , wherein the base surface is a funnel shaped with a drain formed therein; and
the funnel shaped inclined base surface facilitates channeling of human waste and liquid into the inlet of the tank pumping coupling to facilitate pumping of the human waste and liquid from the storage tank.
32 . The chemical toilet according to claim 31 , wherein one of a screen and a grating overlies the inlet of the tank pumping coupling for preventing an undesired object from flowing into the tank pumping coupling.
33 . The chemical toilet according to claim 21 , wherein the housing of the chemical toilet is a portable self sustained unit having four side walls and a roof with a door located on one of the four walls to close the aperture providing access to the interior compartment of the housing.
34 . The chemical toilet according to claim 33 , wherein a vent extends between an upper region of the storage tank and the roof to facilitate venting of noxious odors from the storage tank to an exterior of the chemical toilet.
35 . The chemical toilet according to claim 22 , wherein the service vehicle has a fresh water supply source and a collection reservoir for collecting human waste and liquid removed from the storage tank;
the fresh water supply source includes a pumping device for pumping fresh water from the fresh water supply source along a flexible fresh water hose to a fresh water ball valve, and the fresh water ball valve is connectable to the fresh water supply coupling; and the collection reservoir includes a pumping device for pumping human waste and liquid from the storage tank and a flexible pump hose connected to a pump ball valve, and the pump ball valve is connectable with a pump coupling of the chemical toilet.
36 . The chemical toilet according to claim 22 , wherein the service vehicle has a fresh water supply source and a collection reservoir for collecting human waste removed from the storage tank;
the fresh water supply source includes a pumping device for pumping fresh water from the fresh water supply source along a flexible fresh water hose to a fresh water ball valve, and the fresh water ball valve is connectable to a spray hose with a quick connect coupling at one end thereof and a water nozzle at the opposite end thereof to facilitate spraying of the fresh water therefrom; and the collection reservoir includes a pumping device for pumping human waste and liquid from the storage tank and a flexible pump hose connected to a pump ball valve, the pump ball valve is connectable with a rigid section of pipe with a quick connect coupling at one end thereof and an inlet at the opposite end thereof to facilitate pumping of fluid and human waste therefrom.
37 . A chemical toilet comprising:
a housing accommodating a toilet therein, and the toilet having an opening directly communicating with a storage tank; and an exterior wall of the housing having a wall pumping coupling and a lower portion of the storage tank having a tank pumping coupling with an inlet and the wall pumping coupling and the tank pumping coupling being interconnected with one another by a pumping conduit to facilitate pumping of human waste from the storage tank during servicing of the chemical toilet by a service vehicle; a base surface of the storage tank being funnel shaped to facilitate channeling of human waste and other liquid, during cleaning of the storage tank, toward and into a fixed inlet of the tank pumping coupling, forming a portion of a vertical lower most portion of the base surface, to facilitate channeling and flow of the human waste and liquid contained within the storage tank into the inlet of the tank pumping coupling during servicing of the chemical toilet; and the fixed inlet of the tank pumping coupling being located at the lower most portion of the storage tank, and the wall pumping coupling being located horizontally above both the storage tank and the tank pumping coupling to prevent leakage of the human waste and liquid via the wall pumping coupling.
38 . The chemical toilet according to claim 37 , wherein at least one spray nozzle is located within the storage tank and a fresh water conduit interconnects the at least one spray nozzle with a source of fresh water to facilitate spraying of an interior of the storage tank during pumping of the human waste from the storage tank while servicing of the chemical toilet.
39 . A method of producing a chemical toilet comprising:
forming an aperture in a housing to provide access to an interior compartment of the housing, and the interior compartment of the housing having a toilet with an opening directly communicating with a storage tank; and locating a wall pumping coupling on an exterior wall of the housing and interconnecting a tank pumping coupling, located at a vertically lower most portion of the storage tank, with the wall pumping coupling by a pumping conduit to facilitate pumping of human waste and liquid from the storage tank during servicing of the chemical toilet by a service vehicle, and a base surface of the storage tank being inclined toward the lower most portion of the storage tank; and fixing an inlet of the tank pumping coupling at the lower most portion of the storage tank to facilitate channeling and flow of any human waste and liquid contained within the storage tank into the fixed inlet of the tank pumping coupling during servicing of the chemical toilet, and locating the wall pumping coupling horizontally above the storage tank and the tank pumping coupling to prevent leakage of the human waste and liquid.
40 . The method according to claim 39 , further comprising the step of supplying water to the storage tank, simultaneously while pumping human waste from the storage tank, to facilitate cleaning of the storage tank during servicing of the chemical toilet.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
