Abstract
The invention relates to a device for supporting a patient to be supported laterally on an x-ray table with a supporting element comprising a trough-like arched supporting surface and a fastening device for fastening the supporting element to the x-ray table such that the supporting surface continues a reclining surface of the x-ray table.

13 . A device for supporting a medical patient rested laterally on an x-ray table, comprising:
a supporting element having a trough-like arched supporting surface; and a fastening device for fastening the supporting element onto the x-ray table so that the supporting surface continues a reclining surface of the x-ray table which forms a continuous transition.
14 . The device as claimed in claim 13 , wherein the supporting element is hollow.
15 . The device as claimed in claim 13 , wherein the supporting element and the fastening device are made from a material permeable for an x-ray.
16 . The device as claimed in claim 15 , wherein the material has an average atomic number of less than 14.
17 . The device as claimed in claim 16 , wherein the material has an average atomic number of less than 8.
18 . The device as claimed in claim 15 , wherein the material is made from a plastic fortified with a carbon fiber.
19 . The device as claimed in claim 13 , wherein the fastening device comprises a first fastening element and a second fastening element.
20 . The device as claimed in claim 19 , wherein the first fastening element is selected from the group consisting of: a plug element, a latching element, and a clamping element.
21 . The device as claimed in claim 13 , wherein the first and the second fastening elements are interlocked with one another.
22 . The device as claimed in claim 13 , wherein a device for adjusting an arrangement of the supporting surface of the fastening device is provided.
23 . The device as claimed in claim 22 , wherein the device adjusts a horizontal arrangement of the supporting surface of the fastening device.
24 . The device as claimed in claim 13 , wherein a length of the supporting surface extends parallel to a longitudinal edge of the x-ray table by less than 0.5 times of a length of the x-ray table.
25 . The device as claimed in claim 24 , wherein the length of the supporting surface extends parallel to the longitudinal edge of the x-ray table by less than 0.3 times of the length of the x-ray table.
26 . The device as claimed in claim 13 , wherein the trough-like arched supporting surface is a segment of a circle of 90° and has a uniform curvature.
27 . The device as claimed in claim 13 , wherein the supporting element is attached to a longitudinal edge of the x-ray table.
28 . The device as claimed in claim 13 , wherein a plurality of supporting elements departing from one another are attached to a longitudinal edge of the x-ray table.
29 . The device as claimed in claim 13 , wherein two supporting elements are attached symmetrically to both longitudinal edges of the x-ray table.
30 . The device as claimed in claim 13 , wherein a plurality of supporting elements departing from one another are attached symmetrically to both longitudinal edges of the x-ray table.
