Roulette table device with progressive jackpot

Abstract

Roulette table device with progressive jackpot, comprising a gaming table ( 1 ) designed for playing a roulette game, in which a number layout is provided on the table ( 1 ) for placing betting chips, several player positions, a croupier position, playing means for playing the roulette game, a jackpot computer unit ( 8, 10 ) for producing a progressive build-up of a jackpot during each round of a game, and a reduction of the jackpot if a jackpot has been paid out to a player position. Detection means ( 4, 6 ) are provided for detection of a dolly movement carried out by a croupier, which forms an essential part of the roulette game in each round of the game, the detection means ( 4, 6 ) being designed in such a way that on detection of the above-mentioned dolly movement during a round of a game they automatically issue an instruction to the jackpot computer unit ( 8, 10 ) for a random determination to be made on whether the jackpot can be paid out to one or more of the player positions in the round of the game concerned.

1 . Roulette table device with progressive jackpot, comprising: 
 a gaming table ( 1 ) designed for playing a roulette game, in which a number layout for placing betting chips is provided on the table ( 1 );    several player positions;    a croupier position;    playing means for playing the roulette game;    a jackpot computer unit ( 8 ,  10 ) for producing a progressive build-up of a jackpot during each round of a game, and a reduction of the jackpot if a jackpot has been paid out to a player position;    wherein    the device further comprises a dolly ( 3 ), which a croupier has to place on a corresponding position on the number layout after a winning number has come up in a round of a game,    on the gaming table ( 1 ) a detection area ( 2 ) for detecting the dolly ( 3 ) within said area being provided, and detection means ( 4 ,  6 ) being provided for detection of a movement of the dolly to or from the detection area ( 2 ),    the detection means ( 4 ,  6 ) being designed, on detection of a movement of the dolly ( 3 ) to or from the detection area ( 2 ) during a round of a game, automatically to issue an instruction to the jackpot computer unit ( 8 ,  10 ) for a random determination to be made on whether the jackpot can be paid out to one or more of the player positions in the round of the game concerned.    
   
   
       2 . Roulette table device according to  claim 1 , in which the detection means ( 4 ,  6 ) are at least partially provided near the detection area ( 2 ).  
   
   
       3 . Roulette table device according to  claim 1   2 , in which the detection means comprise a detection loop ( 6 ), in particular an antenna loop, positioned near the detection area ( 2 ).  
   
   
       4 . Roulette table device according to  claim 1 , in which the detection means comprise a transponder ( 4 ) built into the dolly ( 3 ).  
   
   
       5 . Roulette table device according to  claim 1 , in which the detection means ( 4 ,  6 ) comprise a time switch that is designed to establish whether the dolly ( 3 ) has been moved to or from the detection area ( 2 ) in a specific minimum period of time.  
   
   
       6 . Roulette table device according to  claim 1 , in which the detection area ( 2 ) is formed by a home base for the dolly ( 3 ) provided at the position of or near the croupier position.  
   
   
       7 . Roulette table device according to one  claim 1 , in which the detection area comprises at least the number layout.  
   
   
       8 . Roulette table device according to  claim 1 , in which the detection means ( 4 ,  6 ) comprise an ON/OFF switch, in particular built into the dolly ( 3 ).

Roulette table device according to  claim 1 , in which a first detection area is provided, in the form of a home base for the dolly provided at the position of or near the croupier position, in which a second detection area is provided, at least extending over the number layout, and in which each detection area is provided with its own set of detection means, which together are designed to, on detection of a movement of the dolly to or from the respective detection areas during a round of a game, automatically issue the instruction to the jackpot computer unit for a random determination to be made on whether the jackpot can be paid out to one or more of the player positions in the round of the game concerned.  
   
   
       10 . Roulette table device according to  claim 1 , in which reading means are provided under the respective number compartment positions of the number layout, which reading means are designed for automated reading out of a winning number compartment on which the dolly has been placed in a round of a game.  
   
   
       11 . Roulette table device according to  claim 10 , in which the reading means are integral with the detection means.
