Information recording method and apparatus with additional recording function

Abstract

An information recording apparatus includes: a unit for applying a predetermined processing to record information divided into error correction units and generating processed record information including a plurality of record units; and a unit for recording the processed record information on an information record medium; a unit for recording, after the recording of the processed record information, predetermined dummy information of an information amount corresponding for the plurality of record units, on the information record medium, subsequent to the processed record information recorded.

       13 . An information recording apparatus for recording record information on a recording medium with a unit of an error correction block comprising a plurality of first record units comprising; 
 a converting device which converts the record information to the unit of the error correction block;    a recording device which performs recording process for recording the converted record information on the recording medium; and    a controlling device which controls terminating and restarting of the recording process by the recording device;    wherein the controlling device controls in the terminating of the recording process so that the recording process is terminated within the first record unit of the beginning of the error correction block, and in the restarting of the recording process so that the recording process is restarted from the inside of the first record unit which the recording process terminated.    
   
   
       14 . The apparatus according to claim  1 , wherein the controlling device controls so that the recording process is restarted from a position within the range of an error correction capability to a terminating position which the recording process terminated.  
   
   
       15 . The apparatus according to claim  2 , wherein each of the first record units is composed of a plurality of second record units, and the controlling device controls so that the recording process is restarted from the inside of the second record unit including the terminating position.  
   
   
       16 . The apparatus according to claim  1 , wherein the first record unit has an ID information at a head position, and the controlling device controls so that the terminating position which the recording process terminated is located behind the ID information.  
   
   
       17 . An information recording method of recording record information on a recording medium with a unit of an error correction block comprising a plurality of first record units, the method comprising the steps of: 
 converting the record information to the unit of the error correction block;    performing recording process for recording the converted record information on the recording medium; and    controlling terminating and restarting of the recording process;    wherein the step of controlling controls in the terminating of the recording process so that the recording process is terminated within the first record unit of the beginning of the error correction block, and in the restarting of the recording process so that the recording process is restarted from the inside of the first record unit which the recording process terminated.    
   
   
       18 . The method according to claim  5 , wherein the step of controlling controls so that the recording process is restarted from a position within the range of an error correction capability to a terminating position which the recording process terminated.

The method according to claim  6 , wherein each of the first record units is composed of a plurality of second record units, and the step of controlling controls so that the recording process is restarted from the inside of the second record unit including the terminating position.  
   
   
       20 . The method according to claim  5 , wherein the first record unit has an ID information at a head position, and the step of controlling controls so that the terminating position which the recording process terminated is located behind the ID information.
