Self-contained business transaction capsules

Abstract

A self-contained business transaction capsule to conduct a wireless transaction includes data regarding the wireless transaction. Transaction logic is provided to complete the wireless transaction. The self-contained business transaction capsule is adapted to be broadcasted to and stored on a portable electronic device.

1 . A self-contained business transaction capsule to conduct a wireless transaction, between a transaction recipient and a transaction provider, comprising: 
 data regarding the wireless transaction; and    transaction logic sufficient to complete the wireless transaction, via a distributed object model, wherein the self-contained business transaction capsule is adapted to be broadcasted to and stored on a portable electronic device.    
     
     
         2 . The self-contained business transaction capsule according to  claim 1 , wherein the data regarding the wireless transaction includes at least one of a price, a transaction description, and an image.  
     
     
         3 . The self-contained business transaction capsule according to  claim 1 , wherein the transaction logic includes at least one of billing and shipping information, order routing information, order status information, shipping status information, and transaction rules.  
     
     
         4 . The self-contained business transaction capsule according to  claim 1 , wherein the transaction logic is adapted to transmit completed transaction data from the portable electronic device to a transaction system.  
     
     
         5 . The self-contained business transaction capsule according to  claim 4 , wherein the completed transaction data is transmitted to the transaction system via at least one of: direct dialing with a wireless telephone protocol, utilizing Short Messaging Service (SMS), and via Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP).  
     
     
         6 . The self-contained business transaction capsule according to  claim 1 , wherein the portable electronic device is a mobile wireless-enabled device.  
     
     
         7 . The self-contained business transaction capsule according to  claim 1 , wherein the portable electronic device utilizes a wireless networking protocol.  
     
     
         8 . The self-contained business transaction capsule according to  claim 1 , wherein the self-contained business transaction capsule is adapted to be readily transmitted from the portable electronic device to another portable electronic device.  
     
     
         9 . The self-contained business transaction capsule according to  claim 1 , wherein the self-contained business transaction capsule is broadcasted to the portable electronic device by at least one of a radio wave, a television signal, a cellular telephony signal, a satellite signal, and an infrared signal.  
     
     
         10 . The self-contained business transaction capsule according to  claim 1 , wherein the portable electronic device includes a container for storing self-contained business transaction capsules.  
     
     
         11 . The self-contained business transaction capsule according to  claim 1 , wherein the self-contained business transaction capsule communicates to a plurality of systems to complete the wireless transaction.  
     
     
         12 . The self-contained business transaction capsule according to  claim 1 , wherein the data regarding the wireless transaction includes at least one of a

         71 . The self-contained business transaction capsule according to  claim 1 , wherein at least part of the capsule migrates onto different electronic systems, completing a portion of the transaction via each of the different electronic systems.  
     
     
         72 . The self-contained business transaction capsule according to  claim 1 , the self-contained business transaction capsule being a device-independent computer-readable file.  
     
     
         73 . The self-contained business transaction capsule according to  claim 1 , wherein after the wireless transaction has been completed, the capsule is transmitted to a mobile commerce system.

The self-contained business transaction capsule according to  claim 1 , wherein the transaction logic completes the wireless transaction regardless of whether a live connection is established between the transaction recipient, via the portable electronic device, and the transaction provider.  
     
     
         75 . A self-contained business transaction discount capsule to conduct a wireless transaction, between a transaction recipient and a transaction provider, comprising: 
 data regarding the wireless transaction; and    transaction logic sufficient to complete the wireless transaction, via a distributed object model, wherein the self-contained business transaction discount capsule is adapted to be broadcasted to and stored on a portable electronic device, and the transaction logic completes the wireless transaction, and a purchase price of the wireless transaction is discounted by a predetermined amount.    
     
     
         76 . The self-contained business transaction discount capsule according to  claim 75 , further including a time stamp to allow the wireless transaction to be discounted by the predetermined amount only during a predetermined time period.  
     
     
         77 . The self-contained business transaction discount capsule according to  claim 75 , wherein the self-contained business transaction discount capsule is downloadable from a web server.  
     
     
         78 . The self-contained business transaction discount capsule according to  claim 77 , wherein the self-contained business transaction discount capsule is transferable from a first portable electronic device to a second portable electronic device without interaction from the web server.  
     
     
         79 . The self-contained business transaction discount capsule according to  claim 75 , wherein the transaction logic completes the wireless transaction regardless of whether a live connection is established between the transaction recipient, via the portable electronic device, and the transaction provider.  
     
     
         80 . The self-contained business transaction capsule according to  claim 1 , wherein the data regarding the wireless transaction is selected from the group consisting of informational content and a message.  
     
     
         81 . The self-contained business transaction capsule according to  claim 1 , wherein the transaction logic includes at least one of message routing logic and recipient lists.  
     
     
         82 . The self-contained business transaction capsule according to claim  1 , wherein the data regarding the wireless transaction includes at least one of a price, a transaction description, an image, informational content and a message, and 
 the transaction logic includes at least one of billing and shipping information, order routing information, order status information, shipping status information, transaction rules, message routing logic, and recipient lists.    
     
     
         83 . The self-contained business transaction capsule according to  claim 10 , wherein the a container executes the self-contained business transaction capsules.
