Abstract

A hair colorant applicator includes a deformable container ( 2 ) of colorant having a cap ( 4 ) to which a sponge ( 6 ) is affixed. The sponge communicates with the interior of the container via an aperture ( 22 ). The colorant is provided in a two-part form wherein one part is contained in a subcontainer ( 8 ) suspended within container ( 2 ) which contains the other part of the colorant mixture. A forcing member ( 15 ) is provided for conveying rupturing force from the cap to break subcontainer ( 8 ) into an upper portion ( 12 ) and a lower portion ( 10 ) thereby mixing the two parts of the two-part colorant. The sponge may be wetted to a desired degree by squeezing deformable container ( 2 ). The applicator provides a means for precise and convenient retouching of hair roots and hairline.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A hair colorant applicator including:
a container containing a first part of a two-part hair colorant; a subcontainer containing a second part of the two-part hair colorant and suspended into the first part of the two-part hair colorant; an assembly arranged to selectively rupture the subcontainer in order to mix the first part and the second part of the two-part hair colorant.

2 . A hair colorant applicator according to claim 1 , wherein the subcontainer is suspended from a rim of the container and wherein said applicator further includes:
a cap covering the opening; and a forcing member arranged to transfer rupturing force to the lower portion of the subcontainer from the cap in use, thereby releasing the second part into the first part.

3 . A hair colorant applicator according to claim 2 , further including a sponge affixed to the cap for applying the hair colorant and arranged to communicate with the interior of the container by means of an aperture formed in the cap.

4 . A hair colorant applicator according to claim 3 , wherein the forcing member is arranged to seal the aperture in a first configuration and to unseal the aperture upon transferring rupturing force to the lower portion of the subcontainer in use.

5 . A hair colorant applicator according to claim 1 , wherein the container is deformable so that in use a desired quantity of hair colorant may be forced through the aperture.

6 . A hair colorant applicator according to claim 2 , wherein the forcing member includes a tubular body.

7 . A hair colorant applicator according to claim 6 , wherein a rim of the tubular body abuts a ledge protruding from an inside wall of the lower portion of the subcontainer.

8 . A hair colorant applicator according to claim 7 , wherein the tubular body includes a flange located to prevent the forcing member falling into the container subsequent to releasing of the second part into the first part.

9 . A hair colorant applicator according to claim 8 , wherein the flange is arranged to abut a portion of the cap prior to releasing of the second part into the first part.
