Abstract

A space dividing assembly including at least a first top member having first and second substantially parallel and oppositely facing lateral edges, a top surface and an undersurface, at least a first bottom member having first and second substantially parallel and oppositely facing lateral edges and a top surface, the bottom member having a shape that is substantially similar to the shape of the top member and spaced there below so that the first and second lateral edges of the bottom member and the first and second lateral edges of the top member are substantially vertically aligned and so that the facing top member undersurface and bottom member top surface form a space there between and at least a first internal wall member having a length dimension and disposed in the space between the top and bottom members with the length dimension substantially parallel to the first lateral edge of the top member and with the internal wall member spaced apart from the first and second lateral edges and closer to the first lateral edge than to the second lateral edge, the internal wall extending between the undersurface of the top member and the top surface of the bottom member so that the internal wall member divides at least a portion of the space between the top and bottom members into a first shelf space accessible from adjacent the first lateral edge of the top member and a second shelf space accessible from adjacent the second lateral edge of the top member.

1 . A space dividing assembly, the assembly comprising: 
 at least a first top substantially flat and rectilinear member having first and second substantially parallel and oppositely facing lateral edges, a top surface and an undersurface;    at least a first bottom substantially flat and rectilinear wall member having first and second substantially parallel and oppositely facing lateral edges and a top surface, the bottom member having a shape that is substantially similar to the shape of the top member and spaced there below so that the first and second lateral edges of the bottom member and the first and second lateral edges of the top member are substantially vertically aligned and so that the facing top member undersurface and bottom member top surface form a space there between; and    at least a first substantially flat internal wall member having a length dimension and disposed in the space between the top and bottom members with the length dimension substantially parallel to the first lateral edge of the top member and with the internal wall member spaced apart from the first and second lateral edges and closer to the first lateral edge than to the second lateral edge, the internal wall extending between the undersurface of the top member and the top surface of the bottom member so that the internal wall member divides at least a portion of the space between the top and bottom members into a first shelf space accessible from adjacent the first lateral edge of the top member and a second shelf space accessible from adjacent the second lateral edge of the top member.    
     
     
         2 . The assembly of  claim 1  wherein a deep depth dimension between the second lateral edge and the internal wall member is at least ten inches and a shallow depth dimension between the first lateral edge and the internal wall member is less than fifteen inches.  
     
     
         3 . The assembly of  claim 2  wherein the shallow depth dimension is less than ten inches.  
     
     
         4 . The assembly of  claim 2  wherein the deep depth dimension is at least fifteen inches.  
     
     
         5 . The assembly of  claim 1  wherein each of the top and bottom members further includes oppositely facing first and second end edges that are substantially perpendicular to the first and second lateral edges, the assembly further including at least a first end wall that extends from the first end edge of the top member to the first edge of the bottom member and that is substantially perpendicular to each of the top and bottom members.  
     
     
         6 . The assembly of  claim 5  further including a second end wall that extends between the second edges of the top and bottom members and that is substantially perpendicular to each of the top and bottom members.  
     
     
         7 . The assembly of  claim 6  wherein the internal wall member abuts the first end wall member and extends there from toward the second end wall member.  
     
     
         8 . The assembly of  claim 6  wherein the distance between the undersurface of the top member and the top surface of the bottom member is at least twelve inches.  
     
     
         9 . The assembly of  claim 6  further including a partition wall structure below and supporting the bottom wall member.  
     
     
         10 . The assembly of  claim 9  wherein the partition wall structure supports the bottom wall member substantially midway between the first and second lateral edges of the bottom wall member.  
     
     
         11 . The assembly of  claim 10  wherein a deep depth dimension between the second lateral edge and the internal wall member is at least ten inches and a shallow depth dimension between the first lateral edge and the internal wall member is less than fifteen inches.  
     
     
         12 . The assembly of  claim 11  wherein the shallow depth dimension is less than ten inches.  
     
     
         13 . The assembly of  claim 11  wherein the deep depth dimension is at least fifteen inches.  
     
     
         14 . The assembly of  claim 1  wherein each of the top and bottom members includes first and second end edges, the first internal wall member adjacent the first end edge of the top member and extending toward the second end edge of the top member, the assembly further including a second substantially flat internal wall member having a length dimension and disposed in the space between the top and bottom members with the length dimension substantially parallel to the first lateral edge of the top member and with the second internal wall member spaced apart from the first and second lateral edges and closer to the second lateral edge than to the first lateral edge, the second internal wall adjacent the second end edge of the top member and extending toward the first end edge of the top member.  
     
     
         15 . The assembly of  claim 14  wherein the top member has a length dimension between the first and second end edges and wherein the length dimension of each of the first and second internal wall members is substantially half the length dimension of the top member.  
     
     
         16 . The assembly of  claim 15  wherein a depth dimension between the first lateral edge of the top member and the first internal wall member is substantially equal to the depth dimension between the second lateral edge of the top member and the second internal wall member.  
     
     
         17 . The assembly of  claim 16  further including a third substantially flat internal wall member having a length dimension and disposed in the space between the top and bottom members with the length dimension perpendicular to the first lateral edge of the top member, the third internal wall member extending between adjacent ends of the first and second internal wall members.  
     
     
         18 . The assembly of  claim 17  further including a first end wall that extends from the first end edge of the top member to the first edge of the bottom member and that is substantially perpendicular to each of the top and bottom members and a second end wall that extends from the second end edge of the top member to the second edge of the bottom member and that is substantially perpendicular to each of the top and bottom members and wherein the first internal wall member abuts the first end wall and the second internal wall member abuts the second end wall member.  
     
     
         19 . The assembly of  claim 18  further including a partition wall structure below and supporting the bottom wall member.  
     
     
         20 . The assembly of  claim 19  wherein the partition wall structure supports the bottom wall member substantially midway between the first and second lateral edges of the bottom wall member.  
     
     
         21 . The assembly of  claim 19  wherein the partition wall structure extends along substantially the entire length of the bottom wall member.  
     
     
         22 . An assembly comprising: 
 a partition wall structure;    at least a first substantially flat and rectilinear bottom wall having first and second substantially parallel and oppositely facing lateral edges and first and second substantially parallel and oppositely facing end edges and forming a substantially planar top surface, the bottom wall supported by the partition wall;    at least a first substantially flat internal wall member having a length dimension, the first wall member supported by and extending from and substantially perpendicular to the top surface adjacent the first end edge with the length dimension substantially parallel to the first lateral edge and with the internal wall member spaced apart from the first and second lateral edges and closer to the first lateral edge than to the second lateral edge so that the first end wall divides at least a portion of the space above the bottom wall into a first shelf space accessible from adjacent the first lateral edge of the bottom member and a second shelf space accessible from adjacent the second lateral edge of the bottom member; and    at least a second substantially flat internal wall member having a length dimension, the second wall member supported by and extending from and substantially perpendicular to the top surface adjacent the second end edge with the length dimension substantially parallel to the first lateral edge and with the second internal wall member spaced apart from the first and second lateral edges and closer to the second lateral edge than to the first lateral edge so that the second end wall divides at least a portion of the space above the bottom wall into another shelf space accessible from adjacent the first lateral edge of the bottom member and still one other shelf space accessible from adjacent the second lateral edge of the bottom member.    
     
     
         23 . The assembly of  claim 22  wherein the combined length dimensions of the first and second internal wall members is substantially equal to a length dimension of the first lateral edge.  
     
     
         24 . The assembly of  claim 23  wherein the length dimension of the first internal wall member is substantially equal to the length dimension of the second internal wall member.  
     
     
         25 . The assembly of  claim 22  wherein a deep depth dimension between the second lateral edge and the first internal wall member is greater than ten inches and wherein a shallow depth dimension between the first lateral edge and the first internal wall member is less than fifteen inches and wherein a deep depth dimension between the first lateral edge and the second internal wall member is greater than ten inches and wherein a shallow depth dimension between the second lateral edge and the second internal wall member is less than fifteen inches.  
     
     
         26 . The assembly of  claim 25  wherein the shallow depth dimensions are less than ten inches.  
     
     
         27 . The assembly of  claim 25  wherein the deep depth dimensions are at least fifteen inches.  
     
     
         28 . The assembly of  claim 22  wherein the at least a first bottom wall includes a single bottom wall member.  
     
     
         29 . The assembly of  claim 22  wherein the ends of the first and second internal wall members opposite the end edges of the bottom wall are distal ends, the assembly further including a third substantially flat internal wall member having a length dimension, the third internal wall member supported by and extending from and substantially perpendicular to the top surface and extending between the distal ends of the first and second internal wall members.  
     
     
         30 . The assembly of  claim 22  wherein the partition wall structure supports the bottom wall substantially midway between the first and second lateral edges of the bottom wall.  
     
     
         31 . A space dividing assembly, the assembly comprising: 
 a first substantially flat top member having first and second substantially parallel and oppositely facing lateral edges, first and second oppositely facing and substantially parallel end edges, a top surface and an undersurface;    a first substantially flat bottom wall member having first and second substantially parallel and oppositely facing lateral edges, first and second substantially parallel and oppositely facing end edges and a top surface, the bottom member spaced below the top member so that the first and second lateral edges of the bottom member and the first and second lateral edges of the top member are substantially vertically aligned and so that a space is formed there between;    a first end wall that extends between the first end edges of the top and bottom members and between the first and second lateral edges of the top member and that is substantially perpendicular to each of the top and bottom members;    a second end wall that extends between the second end edges of the top and bottom members and between the first and second lateral edges of the top member and that is substantially perpendicular to each of the top and bottom members;    a first internal wall member having a length dimension and extending between the undersurface of the top member and the top surface of the bottom member and spaced apart from each of the first and second lateral edges of the top member, one end of the first internal wall member abutting the first end wall member and a distal end of the first internal wall member opposite the one end extending toward the second end wall;    a second internal wall member having a length dimension and extending between the undersurface of the top member and the top surface of the bottom member and spaced apart from each of the first and second lateral edges of the top member, one end of the second internal wall member abutting the second end wall member and a distal end of the second internal wall member opposite the one end extending toward the first end wall; and    a third internal wall member extending between the undersurface of the top member and the top surface of the bottom member and extending between the distal ends of the first and second internal wall members such that the first, second and third internal wall members divide the space between the top and bottom members into first and second spaces that are accessible from adjacent the first and second lateral edges of the top surface, respectively, where the first space includes a deep depth portion and a shallow depth portion and the second space includes a deep depth portion and a shallow depth portion.    
     
     
         32 . The assembly of  claim 31  wherein the depths of the deep depth portions are at least ten inches and the depths of the shallow depth portions are less than fifteen inches.  
     
     
         33 . The assembly of  claim 32  wherein the shallow depth dimensions are less than ten inches.  
     
     
         34 . The assembly of  claim 32  wherein the deep depth dimensions are at least fifteen inches.  
     
     
         35 . The assembly of  claim 31  further including a partition wall structure below and supporting the bottom wall member.  
     
     
         36 . The assembly of  claim 31  wherein the top member has a length dimension between the first and second end edges and wherein the combined length dimensions of the first and second internal wall members is substantially equal to the length dimension of the top member.  
     
     
         37 . The assembly of  claim 31  wherein a deep depth dimension between the first lateral edge of the top member and the first internal wall member is substantially equal to a deep depth dimension between the second lateral edge of the top member and the second internal wall member.
