Abstract
A wire stripper having at least two resiliently flexible blades each of which terminate in an insulator stripper disposed in opposed relation operably responsive to a slidly engaged insulated wire to release the insulator from the wire.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A method of stripping an insulator from an insulated wire, comprising the steps of:
a. slidly inserting said insulated wire between at least two resiliently flexible blades each having a terminal insulator stripper disposed in opposed relation; b. establishing a portion of said insulated wire to project a distance beyond each said terminal insulator stripper disposed in opposed relation; c. flexibly engaging each said terminal insulator stripper to said insulator of said insulated wire; d. drawing said insulated wire from between said at least two resiliently flexible blades each having a terminal insulator stripper disposed in opposed relation; and e. stripping said insulator from said portion of said insulated wire which projects beyond each said insulator stripper disposed in opposed relation.
2 . A method of stripping an insulator from an insulated wire as described in claim 1 , further comprising the step of securing a stand coupled to said at least two resiliently flexible blades to a support surface to perform steps a. through e.
3 . A method of stripping an insulator from an insulated wire as described in claim 2 , wherein said step of securing said stand coupled to said at least two resiliently flexible blades to a support surface to perform steps a. through e. comprises holding said stand in a first hand.

A method of stripping an insulator from an insulated wire as described in claim 2 , wherein said step of securing said stand coupled to said at least two resiliently flexible blades to a support surface to perform steps a. through e. comprises generating a suction between a cup and said support surface.

A method of stripping an insulator from an insulated wire as described in claim 2 , wherein said step of securing said stand coupled to said at least two resiliently flexible blades to a support surface to perform steps a. through e. comprises fastening said stand to said support surface to perform steps a. through e.

A method of stripping an insulator from an insulated wire as described in claim 2 , wherein said step of securing a stand coupled to said at least two resiliently flexible blades to a support surface to perform steps a. through e. comprises coupling said stand to a case to perform steps a. through e.

10 . A method of making a wire stripper, comprising the steps of:
a. providing at least two resiliently flexible blades each having a terminal insulator stripper; and b. disposing each said terminal insulator stripper in opposed relation, wherein said at least two resiliently flexible blades have sufficient resilient flexure upon engagement with an insulated wire to allow slidable insertion of said insulated wire between each said terminal insulator stripper disposed in opposed relation, and wherein withdrawal of said insulated wire allows sufficient engagement of each said terminal insulator stripper with an insulator of said insulated wire to remove said insulator as said insulated wire is withdrawn from said at least two resiliently flexible blades.
11 . A method of making a wire stripper as described in claim 10 , further comprising the step of providing a stand coupled to said at least two resiliently flexible blades disposed in opposed relation.
12 . A method of making a wire stripper as described in claim 11 , further comprising the step of coupling a force application surface to said stand.
13 . A method of making a wire stripper as described in claim 12 , further comprising the step of configuring said force application surface to apply a foot.
14 . A method of making a wire stripper as described in claim 12 , further comprising the step of configuring said force application surface to apply a hand.
15 . A method of making a wire stripper as described in claim 11 , wherein said step of providing a stand coupled to said at least two resiliently flexible blades disposed in opposed relation comprises a providing a stand which includes a rotatable handle coupled to said at least two resiliently flexible blades disposed in opposed relation.
