Abstract
The present invention relates generally to the field of board games, and particularly to tourist travel board games in which players become more informed with the vacation destination. The present invention is particularly adaptable as a board game utilizing a popular vacation locale, such as for example Hawaii, in order to expose players to various cultural insights withy they navigate the destination attempting to collect various souvenirs of their journey while staying within a specific budget.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A tourist vacation board game comprising:
a plurality of game pieces with each piece representing a player; means for random number generation; a generally planar game board having an upper surface defining a map of a vacation destination and a back surface, a quantity of play money; a series of separate connected spaces forming a continuous path of travel through said map of vacation destination upon which the game pieces move during play, wherein said path of travel begins and ends at substantially the same location, and wherein said means for random number generation determines the movement of said game pieces about said path of travel; a quantity of prizes that can be earned by said game pieces in various circumstances during said game, said players being required to have earned a minimum number of said prizes before they can finish said game; a first deck of cards with each card bearing a penalty or an adverse instruction, wherein one card is drawn when one of said game pieces lands on some specific space of said travel path; and a second deck of cards with each card bearing the earning of one or more of said prizes or a favorable instruction, wherein one card is drawn when one of said game pieces land on some specific space of said travel path; wherein, each of said players attempts to reach the finish line before the others with having earned the requisite number of said prizes by moving around said path of travel through said map of vacation destination.

The tourist vacation board game of claim 1 , further comprising one or more detours and attractions posted at various spaces along said path of travel, wherein when one of said game pieces lands on one of said detours or attractions said landed game piece may purchase said detour or said attraction for some quantity of said play money and collect one or more of said prizes.

The tourist vacation board game of claim 1 , further comprising one or more hazards posted at various spaces along said path of travel, wherein when one of said game pieces lands on one of said hazards, said landed game piece will have to pay a penalty or move back one or more spaces along said path of travel.
4 . The tourist vacation board game of claim 1 , further comprising one or more lucks posted at various spaces along said path of travel, wherein when one of said game pieces lands on one of said lucks, said landed game piece will earn some quantity of said play money, or earn one or more of said prizes, or move forward one or more spaces along said path of travel.
5 . The tourist vacation board game of claim 1 , further comprising one or more money stations posted at various spaces along said path of travel, wherein when one of said game pieces lands on one of said money stations, said landed game piece will earn some quantity of said play money.
6 . The tourist vacation board game of claim 1 , wherein said game board further comprises artistic images of the locale, whether by using fine art, whimsical art, or photographical art ubiquitous of the area in order to expose said players to various insights while navigating said vacation destination.
7 . The tourist vacation board game of claim 1 , further comprising one or more designated advertising spaces.
8 . The tourist vacation board game of claim 1 , further comprising coupons for retailers from said vacation destination.
9 . The tourist vacation board game of claim 1 , wherein said game board comprises a generally collapsible board that includes a functional map of said vacation destination.
