Abstract
The present invention concerns a container having a body formed by wall or walls with a greater diameter S 1 and at least a neck with a diameter S 2 , container made from a semi-crystalline PET, having a wall thickness of less than 100 μm, substantially in the middle of its body and having a complex, three dimensional shape convenient for gripping, this part having a diameter S 3.

A container having a body formed by at least one wall having a diameter S 1 and a neck with a diameter S 2 , the container being made from a semi-crystalline PET, having a wall thickness of less than 100 μm, substantially in the middle of its body and having a three dimensional shape that is so constructed and arranged to make it convenient for gripping, having a diameter S 3 .
2 . A container according to claim 1 , wherein the part convenient for gripping is substantially in the middle of the container body and has a diameter S 3 smaller than S 1 .
3 . A container according to claim 2 , wherein the ratio of diameter of the diameter S 1 to the diameter S 3 is 1.2:1 to 2:1.
4 . A packaging assembly comprising
a container having a body formed by a wall having a diameter S 1 and at least a neck with a diameter S 2 , the container being made from a semi-crystalline PET and having a wall thickness of less than 100 μm, substantially in the middle of its body; a product in the container; and closing means for closing off or distributing the product from the neck, the container being substantially incompressible by the force of a hand when filled with the product.
5 . A packaging assembly according to claim 4 , wherein the product is selected from the group consisting of pasty, liquid, semi-liquid, granular and powdered product.
6 . A packaging assembly according to claim 4 , wherein said assembly has a high resistance to vertical and/or transverse loads.
7 . A packaging assembly according to claim 4 , wherein said assembly supports a vertical and/or transverse loading of more than about 100 kg for a container having a weight of about 4 g.
8 . A packaging assembly comprising
a container having a body formed by a wall with a diameter S 1 and at least one neck with a diameter S 2 , the container being made from a semi-crystalline PET and having a wall thickness of less than 100 μm, substantially in the middle of its body; a product located in the container which contains a functional component; and closing means for closing off or distributing the product from the neck.
9 . A packaging assembly according to claim 8 , wherein the functional component is selected from the group consisting of a fibre, plant extract, fruit extracts, vitamins and flavors.
10 . A packaging assembly according to claim 8 , wherein said assembly is pasteurised or sterilised at a temperature in excess of 60° C.
11 . A container according to claim 1 comprising a base to support it in an upright position.
12 . A packaging assembly, according to claim 4 , wherein the container has a form selected from the group consisting of a three dimensional shape convenient for gripping, an ovoid, spherical, elliptical and cylindrical shape.
13 . A container according to claim 1 , wherein the wall thickness of said container, substantially in the middle of its body is between 30 and 70 μm.
14 . A container according to claim 1 , wherein the ratio S 2 on S 1 is comprised between 1:2 and 1:15.
15 . A container according to claim 1 , said container comprising on its outside a printing made by pad printing.
16 . A process for manufacturing a container comprising a body formed by at least one wall having a diameter S 1 and a neck with a diameter S 2 , the container being made from a semi-crystalline PET, having a wall thickness of less than 100 μm, substantially in the middle of its body and having a three dimensional shape that is so constructed and arranged to make it convenient for gripping having a diameter S 3 , wherein said container is obtained by blow moulding of a PET preform with high stretch index in comparison with the classical stretching of a preform.
17 . A container according to claim 4 comprising a base to support it in an upright position.
18 . A container according to claim 4 , wherein the wall thickness of said container, substantially in the middle of its body is between 30 and 70 μm.
19 . A container according to claim 4 , wherein the ratio S 2 on S 1 is comprised between 1:2 and 1:15.
20 . A container according to claim 4 , said container comprising on its outside a printing made by pad printing.
21 . A container according to claim 8 comprising a base to support it in an upright position.
22 . A container according to claim 8 , wherein the wall thickness of said container, substantially in the middle of its body is between 30 and 70 μm.
23 . A container according to claim 8 , wherein the ratio S 2 on S 1 is comprised between 1:2 and 1:15.
