Abstract

A call system receives and processes signaling for four calls to generate four instructions. The system receives user communications for the first and second calls into a Time Division Multiplex (TDM) interface and receives user communications for the third and fourth calls into a packet interface. The call system routes the user communications for the first call from the TDM interface to the packet interface and transfers the user communications from the packet interface based the first instruction. The call system transfers the user communications for the second call from the TDM interface based the second instruction. The call system routes the user communications for the third call from the packet interface to the TDM interface and transfers the user communications from the TDM interface based the third instruction. The call connection system transfers the user communications for the fourth call from the packet interface based the route instruction.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
. A method of operating a call connection system, the method comprising:
receiving signaling for four calls and processing the signaling to generate four route instructions; receiving user communications for a first one of the calls and for a second one of the calls into a Time Division Multiplex (TDM) interface and receiving user communications for a third one of the calls and for a fourth one of the calls into a packet interface; routing the user communications for the first call from the TDM interface to the packet interface and transferring the user communications for the first call from the packet interface based a first one of the route instructions; transferring the user communications for the second call from the TDM interface based a second one of the route instructions; routing the user communications for the third call from the packet interface to the TDM interface and transferring the user communications for the third call from the TDM interface based a third one of the route instructions; transferring the user communications for the fourth call from the packet interface based a fourth one of the route instructions.

. The method of claim 1 further comprising compressing the user communications for the first call.

. The method of claim 1 further comprising compressing the user communications for the second call.

. The method of claim 1 further comprising compressing the user communications for the third call.

. The method of claim 1 further comprising compressing the user communications for the fourth call.

. The method of claim 1 further comprising encrypting the user communications for the first call.

. The method of claim 1 further comprising encrypting the user communications for the second call.

. The method of claim 1 further comprising encrypting the user communications for the third call.

. The method of claim 1 further comprising encrypting the user communications for the fourth call.

. The method of claim 1 further comprising canceling echo from the user communications for the first call.

. The method of claim 1 further comprising canceling echo from the user communications for the second call.

. The method of claim 1 further comprising canceling echo from the user communications for the third call.

. The method of claim 1 further comprising canceling echo from the user communications for the fourth call.

. The method of claim 1 wherein a portion of the signaling comprises signaling system seven signaling.

. The method of claim 1 wherein receiving the signaling comprises receiving the signaling from an asynchronous transfer mode link.

. The method of claim 1 wherein receiving the signaling comprises receiving the signaling from an internet protocol link.

. The method of claim 1 wherein the packet interface comprises an asynchronous mode interface.

. The method of claim 1 wherein the packet interface comprises an internet protocol interface.

. The method of claim 1 wherein the TDM interface comprises a DSO interface.

. The method of claim 1 wherein the TDM interface comprises an optical interface.
