Abstract
Methods and kits for regulating arterial microvascular tone in which a COX-2 inhibitor and a cannabinoid receptor agonist are co-administered to a subject.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A method for causing construction of arterial microvasculature comprising administering to a vertebrate subject an effective amount of a chemical compound that has cannabinoid receptor agonist activity and COX-2 inhibitory activity.
. The method of claim 1 wherein the subject is a mammal.
. The method of claim 2 wherein the mammal is a human.
. The method of claim 1 wherein the chemical compound further comprises COX-1 inhibitory activity.
. The method of claim 1 wherein the chemical compound comprises ajulemic acid.
. The method of claim 1 wherein the administration of the chemical compound is systemic.
. The method of claim 1 wherein the microvasculature is striated muscle microvasculature.
. A method for increasing blood pressure in a subject comprising administering a chemical compound that has cannabinoid receptor agonist activity and COX-2 inhibitory activity in an amount effective to increase blood pressure in the subject.
. The method of claim 8 wherein the subject is a mammal.
. The method of claim 9 wherein the mammal is a human.
. The method of claim 8 wherein, at the time of the administration, the subject is suffering from an acute decrease in blood pressure.
. A method for treating a subject suffering from or at risk of developing shock comprising administering to a vertebrate subject in need thereof a chemical compound having cannabinoid receptor agonist activity and COX-2 inhibitor activity.
. The method of claim 12 wherein the chemical compound further comprises COX-1 inhibitor activity.
. The method of claim 12 wherein the chemical compound comprises ajulemic acid.
. The method of claim 12 wherein the administration of the chemical compound is systemic.
. The method of claim 12 wherein the subject is a mammal.
. The method of claim 16 wherein the mammal is a human.
. The method of claim 12 wherein the shock is hemorrhagic shock.
. The method of claim 12 wherein the administration is to control hypotension associated with anesthetic agents.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
