Abstract

A board game adapted for simulating with one player of the game the role of a representative making a sales call on a doctor and for simulating with another opposing player of the game the role of a doctor being called on by a sales representative and for utilizing the game play as a means for training the game's players as sales representatives to doctors, comprising: a pair of game pieces, one of the game pieces corresponding during play of the game to a player of the game acting in the role of a sales representative calling on a doctor and the other of the game pieces corresponding during play of the game to an opposing player of the game acting in the role of a doctor being called on by the sales representative; a game board bearing a track divided into a plurality of separate sequential spaces having certain of the spaces labeled in such a manner as to either reward or penalize a player landing on such space; a random number generator for regulating motion of the game pieces along said track; a timer; a plurality of scenario cards containing on one side of each card a role play for a sales representative and a hidden skill by which the performance of a sales representative is to be judged; and a set of rules making play for each turn dependent on use of the hidden skill and governing play of the game.

A board game adapted for simulating with one player of the game the role of a representative making a sales call on a doctor and for simulating with another opposing player of the game the role of a doctor being called on by a sales representative and for utilizing the game play as a means for training the game's players as sales representatives to doctors, comprising: 
 (a) a pair of game pieces adapted to be placed on a selected one of a plurality of separate sequential spaces, one of said game pieces corresponding during play of the game to a player of said game acting in the role of a sales representative calling on a doctor and the other of said game pieces corresponding during play of the game to an opposing player of said game acting in the role of a doctor being called on by the sales representative;    (b) a game board bearing a track divided into a plurality of separate sequential spaces extending between a beginning space and an ending space and having certain of the spaces labeled in such a manner as to either reward or penalize a player landing on such space;    (c) a random number generator for regulating motion of said game pieces along said track;    (d) a timer for timing the amount of time allowed for playing one turn of the game;    (e) a plurality of scenario cards containing on one side of each card a role play for a sales representative and a hidden skill by which the performance of a sales representative is to be judged; and    (f) a set of rules making play for each turn dependent on use of said hidden skill and governing play of the game utilizing said game pieces, board, random number generator, timer and Scenario cards whereby to result in sales representation training of all the players of said game.    
   
   
       2 . The board game of  claim 1  wherein said hidden skill comprises a sales skill that a player must successfully demonstrate during said role play scenario, as judged by opposing players of an opposing team, in order to continue play for the present turn.  
   
   
       3 . The board game of  claim 1  wherein said scenario card further comprises one or more products pertaining to the role play scenario.  
   
   
       4 . The board game of  claim 1  wherein said scenario card further comprises a call length for the role play scenario, said call length comprising a predetermined time during which a player must successfully demonstrate said hidden skill in order to continue play for the present turn.  
   
   
       5 . The board game of  claim 1  wherein said random number generator is selected from the group consisting of a dice, spinner, and electronic random number operator.  
   
   
       6 . The board game of  claim 1  wherein said timer is selected from the group consisting of an hourglass, mechanical timer, and electronic timer.  
   
   
       7 . The board game of  claim 1  further comprising a stethoscope.  
   
   
       8 . A board game adapted for simulating with one player of the game the role of a representative making a sales call on a selected type of prospective purchaser and for simulating with another opposing player of the game the role of the selected type of prospective purchaser being called on by the sales representative and for utilizing the game play as a means for training the game's players as sales representative to the selected type of purchaser, comprising: 
 (a) means representing a pair of game pieces adapted to be placed on selected ones of a plurality of separate sequential spaces, one of said game pieces corresponding during play of the game to a player of said game acting in the role of a sales representative calling on a selected type of prospective purchaser and the other of said game pieces corresponding during play of the game to an opposing player of said game acting in the role of the selected type of prospective purchaser being called on by the sales representative;    (b) means forming a game board bearing a track divided into a plurality of separate sequential spaces extending between a beginning space and an ending space and having certain of the spaces labeled in such a manner as to either reward or penalize a player landing on any of such selected spaces;    (c) a random number generator for regulating motion of said game pieces along said track;    (d) a timer for timing the amount of time allowed for playing one turn of the game;    (e) means providing a set of texts accessible to and sequentially selectable by the players of said game, each of said texts containing a role play for a sales representative selling to the said selected type of prospective purchaser and a hidden skill by which the performance of a sales representative is to be judged when selling to such type of prospective purchaser; and    (f) a set of rules governing play of the game which require display of said hidden skill for advancement on said track while utilizing said game pieces, board, random number generator, timer and set of texts whereby to result in sales representation training of all the players of said game for selling to the selected type of prospective purchaser.    
   
   
       9 . A method making use of play on a board game for training a sales representative to make a sales call on a selected type of prospective purchaser comprising the steps of: 
 (a) establishing the following components of a board game: 
 (i) means representing a pair of game pieces adapted to be placed on selected ones of a plurality of separate sequential spaces, one of said game pieces corresponding during play of the game to a player of said game acting in the role of a sales representative calling on a selected type of prospective purchaser and the other of said game pieces corresponding during play of the game to an opposing player of said game acting in the role of the selected type of prospective purchaser being called on by the sales representative;  
 (ii) means forming a game board bearing a track divided into a plurality of separate sequential spaces extending between a beginning space and an ending space and having certain of the spaces labeled in such a manner as to either reward or penalize a player landing on any of such selected spaces;  
 (iii) a random number generator for regulating motion of said game pieces along said track;  
 (iv) a timer for timing the amount of time allowed for playing one turn of the game;  
 (v) means providing a set of texts accessible to and sequentially selectable by the players of said game, each of said texts containing a role play for a sales representative selling to the said selected type of prospective purchaser and a hidden skill by which the performance of a sales representative is to be judged when selling to such type of prospective purchaser; and  
   (b) playing the game by a set of rules governing play of the game which require display of said hidden skill for advancement on said track while utilizing said game pieces, board, random number generator, timer and set of texts whereby to result in sales representation training of all the players of said game for selling to the selected type of prospective purchaser.    
   
   
       10 . A board game adapted for simulating with one player of the game the role of a representative making a sales call on a doctor and for simulating with another opposing player of the game the role of a doctor being called on by a sales representative and for utilizing the game play as a means for training the game's players as sales representatives to doctors, comprising: 
 (a) a pair of game pieces adapted to be placed on a selected one of a plurality of separate sequential spaces, one of said game pieces corresponding during play of the game to a player of said game acting in the role of a sales representative calling on a doctor and the other of said game pieces corresponding during play of the game to an opposing player of said game acting in the role of a doctor being called on by the sales representative;    (b) a game board bearing a track divided into a plurality of separate sequential spaces extending between a beginning space and an ending space and having certain of the spaces labeled in such a manner as to either reward or penalize a player landing on such space;    (c) a chance means for regulating motion of said game pieces along-said track;    (d) a timer for timing the amount of time allowed for playing one turn of the game;    (e) a plurality of scenario cards containing on one side of each card a role play for a sales representative, wherein each scenario card corresponds to a certain space of said track;    (f) a plurality of sales cards containing on one side of each card a hidden skill by which the performance of a sales representative is to be judged; and    (g) a set of rules making play for each turn dependent on use of said hidden skill and governing play of the game utilizing said game pieces, board, random number generator, timer and scenario cards whereby to result in sales representation training of all the players of said game.
