Abstract
An anastomosis system may include a deployment tool and an anastomosis device, where the anastomosis device may include a first section restrained by the deployment tool, and at least one second section separable from the first section.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . An anastomosis system, comprising:
a deployment tool; and an anastomosis device comprising
a first section restrained by said deployment tool, and
at least one second section separable from said first section.
2 . The anastomosis system of claim 1 , wherein said deployment tool is configured to apply a force to said first section and said second section.
3 . The anastomosis system of claim 2 , wherein at least one said section includes at least one breakable link connecting said sections together.
4 . The anastomosis system of claim 3 , wherein at least one said breakable link is configured to fracture as a result of application of force thereto by said deployment tool.
5 . The anastomosis system of claim 1 , wherein said deployment tool is configured to move said first section and said second section relative to one another.
6 . The anastomosis system of claim 1 , wherein said first section is substantially tubular.
7 . The anastomosis system of claim 1 , wherein said second section is substantially tubular.
8 . The anastomosis system of claim 1 , further comprising at least one barb connected to the distal end of said second section.
9 . The anastomosis system of claim 1 , wherein said first section is fixed to said deployment tool.
10 . The anastomosis system of claim 1 , wherein said deployment tool includes an expander slidable within and substantially along the longitudinal axis of said second section.
11 . The anastomosis system of claim 1 , wherein said deployment tool radially expands and axially compresses at least part of said second section.
12 . The anastomosis system of claim 1 , further comprising at least one substantially blunt element connected to the proximal end of said second section.
13 . The anastomosis system of claim 1 , wherein said second section is plastically deformable.
14 . The anastomosis system of claim 1 , wherein said deployment tool further comprises a penetration member configured to penetrate the target vessel.
15 . An anastomosis system, comprising:
a deployment tool; and an anastomosis device comprising
a substantially tubular first section including a plurality of first members extending generally distally from the distal end of said first section;
a second section including a mesh and a plurality of second members extending generally proximally from the proximal end of said mesh, wherein said second members are detachably connected to said first members;
wherein said deployment tool is actuable to rotate the distal ends of said first members and the proximal ends of said second members outward from the longitudinal axis of said anastomosis device to a degree that said first members and said second members separate from one another and said second members collectively form an outer flange.
16 . The anastomosis system of claim 15 , wherein said second section further comprises a plurality of barbs extending generally distally from the distal end of said mesh, wherein said deployment tool is actuable to rotate the distal ends of said barbs outward from the longitudinal axis of said anastomosis device to a degree that said barbs collectively form an inner flange.
17 . The anastomosis system of claim 16 , wherein said deployment tool forms said inner flange before said outer flange.
18 . The anastomosis system of claim 15 , wherein said deployment tool is actuable to expand the circumference of at least part of said second section.
19 . The anastomosis system of claim 15 , wherein at least a portion of said mesh is substantially tubular prior to actuation of said deployment tool.
20 . The anastomosis system of claim 15 , wherein said deployment tool includes an expander movable substantially linearly along an interior of said first section and said second section.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
