Plumber's back support

Abstract

As stated in Paragraph [0001], the inventor, in thirty years of being in or around the construction business, has never seen a ready-made platform in use while workers are installing or repairing plumbing inside a cabinet. The inventor has never seen such an item in a home center, and he assumes that one does not exist until now. The Support is simple in design, but very effective in bridging the corner of the cabinet. The diagonal ramp starts at the floor in front of the cabinet; the support rests up against the bottom of the cabinet; and the horizontal surface enters the cabinet. The worker will lie on his back; he will have a comfortable, safe surface on which to lie while working, instead of having to improvise something like a pillow or a blanket upon which to lie. The Support is strong; it is secure; it is comfortable; and it is safe.

1 . The Plumber's Back support supplies an interface between the floor of the room and the bottom of a cabinet which houses plumbing. The bottom of the cabinet is typically four (4) inches off the floor. There is a sharp corner, which is the bottom of the cabinet facing out into the room. When a worker lies inside the cabinet to work on the pipes, he must lie on his back on that sharp corner. (1) The Support eliminates the sharp corner and provides a comfortable and safe work environment. 
 (2) The Plumber's Back Support will be durable, made of wood or hard rubber. (3) It will withstand being placed quickly into a truck bed or other harsh environment. (4) Being in one piece, it can be taken hold of quickly and moved to the work location. (5) The Plumber's Back Support will withstand inclement weather. (6) The outstanding feature of the Support and its reason for being is that the Support supplies an interface between the floor of the room and the bottom of the cabinet, which is typically four inches high. It eliminates the sharp corner of the cabinet and provides a healthier work environment.    The worker will have a relatively smooth surface upon which to lie as he works. The entire surface upon which the plumber lies will have a rubber padding (in the case of the wood model) or will be all rubber (in the case of the rubber version). There will be an angle of approximately twenty degrees between the ramp which extends into the room and the ramp which extends into the cabinet; and (7) the overall comfort and safety will be increased dramatically. This design, while simple, can improve the effectiveness and safety for plumbers and other workers.
