Abstract
An internal wheel suspension and shock absorbing system including a hub with radially extending rods or blades, cooperating with sector braces, fixedly mounted by hubs to the interior of the rim for a wheel. The rods and blades secure onto a hub, that mounts onto the vehicle axle, for rotation. When a force is encountered, the forces are absorbed by the blades that extend either through or cooperate with the braces and biasing springs, which are adjustable, that bias against the outer radial edges of the blades or telescoping rods, and absorb the vector forces generated from any impact.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . An internal suspension system for a wheel having a thickness and a tire thereupon, comprising:
a hub, having a generally cylindrical shape; a rim having a generally round hollow shape of greater diameter than said hub, an interior surface opposite said tire and having at least three equally spaced mounts; at least three blades equally spaced around said hub and extending radially from said hub and having less length than the radius of said rim; and, at least three braces, each of said braces connecting to two adjacent mounts and to one of said blades outward from said hub, and including at least one biasing member.
2 . The internal suspension system for a wheel of claim 1 further comprising:
each of said braces having a shaft with a centered longitudinal slot to admit one of said blades and two opposite outer segments, two biasing members coaxial with said shaft located outwards from said slot, said outer segments being threaded, at least one adjustment nut upon each of said segments and contacting said biasing member, and a connector upon each of said segments that pivotally connects to one of said mounts.
3 . The internal suspension system for a wheel of claim 2 wherein said biasing members are one of springs, hydraulic cylinders, and pneumatic cylinders.
4 . The internal suspension system for a wheel of claim 2 further comprising:
said slot in each of said braces having a rectangular shape; and, each of said braces having a rectangular section to cooperatively engage said slot.
5 . The internal suspension system for a wheel of claim 1 further comprising:
each of said blades having a rod like shape; each of said braces having a shaft with a sleeve sliding thereupon, said sleeve including a centered perpendicular tube for telescopically receiving said blade, two opposite outer segments, two biasing members coaxial with said shaft located outwards from said sleeve, said outer segments being threaded, at least one adjustment nut upon each of said segments and contacting said biasing member, and a connector upon each of said segments that pivotally connects to one of said mounts.
6 . The internal suspension system for a wheel of claim 5 wherein said biasing members are springs.
7 . The internal suspension system for a wheel of claim 5 further comprising:
a biasing member locating between each of said blades and each of said tubes.
8 . The internal suspension system for a wheel of claim 7 wherein said biasing members are one of springs, hydraulic cylinders, and pneumatic cylinders.
9 . The internal suspension system for a wheel of claim 1 further comprising:
each of said blades having an elongated shape; each of said braces having a tube with two closed ends, at least one biasing member located therein between said closed ends, and at least one centered slot to admit one of said blades, and two opposite connectors for connecting said tube to said mounts.
10 . The internal suspension system for a wheel of claim 9 wherein said biasing members are one of springs, hydraulic cylinders, and pneumatic cylinders.
11 . The internal suspension system for a wheel of claim 5 further comprising:
a biasing member locating between each of said blades and each of said ends.
12 . The internal suspension system for a wheel of claim 11 further comprising:
each of said tubes having a round cross section and two of said slots locating diametrically opposite to permit passage of one of said blades; said biasing members being springs; and, said blades having a rectangular cross section, and said slots having a rectangular cross section.
13 . An internal suspension system for a wheel having a thickness and a tire thereupon, comprising:
a hub, having a generally cylindrical shape; a rim having a generally round hollow shape of greater diameter than said hub and an interior surface opposite said tire; at least three blades equally spaced around said hub and extending radially from said hub and having less length than the radius of said rim and at least one biasing member connecting to each of said blades generally opposite said hub; and, a disc encasing said hub, said blades, and said biasing members and allowing movement of said hub, said blades, and said biasing members therein, said disc joining to said rim.
14 . The internal suspension system for a wheel of claim 13 further comprising:
said disc having a hollow well for said hub, at least three radial hollow passages for said blades, and at least one hollow sleeve perpendicular to each of said passages generally away from said well for one of said biasing members.
15 . The internal suspension system for a wheel of claim 14 further comprising:
said disc including two halves, each of said halves having one half of said well, said passages, and said sleeves, so that positioning said halves adjacent to each other allows said hub, said blades, and said biasing member within said well, said passage, and said sleeves.
16 . The internal suspension system for a wheel of claim 14 wherein said biasing members are one of springs, hydraulic cylinders, and pneumatic cylinders.
17 . The internal suspension system for a wheel of claim 15 further comprising:
