Inflatable underground structure liner
Abstract
The disclosure is for an underground structure liner based upon an inflatable liner structure. An acid resistant layer is the innermost layer of an inflatable liner, and the liner is coated with epoxy resin on its outermost surface, the surface which contacts the existing walls of the underground structure. The outermost coated surface of the liner is constructed with a fibrous fleece layer for better retention of the epoxy and better adhesion of the epoxy to the walls of the underground structure. An added feature of the liner is a structure which also seals the liner to pipes entering the underground structure.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 - 12 . (canceled)
13 . A liner for a manhole structure, wherein said manhole structure comprises an entrance, at least one wall, and a floor, wherein said floor is substantially parallel to said entrance, said liner comprising:
a first layer consisting of an impermeable acid resistant material with first and second opposing surfaces wherein said first surface of said first layer of said impermeable acid resistant material will be exposed to said interior environment of said manhole structure when installed; and a second layer comprising fibers that are integrated into said second surface of said first layer of said impermeable acid resistant material; wherein said first layer and said second layer of said liner will substantially conform to the shape of said at least one wall and said floor of said manhole structure when installed.
14 . The liner of claim 13 , wherein said liner further includes a reinforcing material in contact with said second layer.
15 . The liner of claim 14 , wherein said reinforcing material is fiberglass.
16 . The liner of claim 13 , wherein said impermeable acid resistant material is polyvinyl chloride.
17 . The liner of claim 13 , wherein said second layer is a layer of fleece.
18 . The liner of claim 17 , wherein said fleece is made of polyester.
19 . The liner of claim 13 , further comprising an epoxy resin retained within said layer of fibers.
20 . The liner of claim 19 , wherein said epoxy resin is a two part epoxy resin.
21 . The liner of claim 19 , wherein said epoxy resin is a delayed reaction epoxy resin.
22 . The liner of claim 13 , wherein said liner comprises multiple panels.
23 . The liner of claim 22 , wherein said liner comprises at least one side panel and at least one bottom panel.
24 . The liner of claim 23 , wherein said liner further includes a reinforcing material in contact with said second layer.
25 . The liner of claim 24 , wherein said reinforcing material is fiberglass.
26 . The liner of claim 23 , wherein said impermeable acid resistant material is polyvinyl chloride.
27 . The liner of claim 23 , wherein said second layer is a layer of fleece.
28 . The liner of claim 27 , wherein said fleece is made of polyester.
29 . The liner of claim 23 , further comprising an epoxy resin retained within said layer of fibers.
30 . The liner of claim 29 , wherein said epoxy resin is a two part epoxy resin.
31 . The liner of claim 29 , wherein said epoxy resin is a delayed reaction epoxy resin.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
