Abstract

A method for winterizing a swimming pool by providing a valve that opens to allow water to flow out of swimming pool pipes under air pressure and closes to prevent pool water from flowing back into the pipes thereby emptying the pipes without having to drain the pool.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A method for draining pool water from a pool return pipe, said pipe having a first end connected to a swimming pool return hole and a second end, said method comprising the steps of:
 (a) providing a one-way valve; (b) attaching the one-way valve to said swimming pool return hole; (c) pumping air into the second end of the return pipe; and wherein the air forces water and air through the one-way valve and into the pool.

2 . The method of claim 2 further comprising the step of adding anti-freeze to the return pipe.

3 . The method of claim 2 further comprising the step of installing a rubber cap on the one-way valve.

4 . A method for discharging pool water from a pool filtration pipe, said pool filtration pipe having a first end connected to a swimming pool aperture, and having a second end, said method comprising the steps of:
 (a) providing a one-way valve; (b) installing the one-way valve into said swimming pool aperture; and (c) pumping air into the second end of the filtration pipe; wherein the air flows through the one-way valve, thereby generating air bubbles in the pool water, and the one-way valve preventing pool water from the swimming pool from entering the filtration pipe.

5 . The method of claim 4 further comprising the step of adding anti-freeze to the pool filtration pipe.

6 . The method of claim 4 further comprising the step of installing a rubber cap to the one-way valve.

7 . A method for discharging pool water from a pool filtration pipe, said pool filtration pipe having a first end connected to a swimming pool aperture, and having a second end, said method comprising the steps of:
 (a) providing a one-way valve; (b) installing the one-way valve into said swimming pool aperture; and (c) pumping anti-freeze into the second end of the filtration pipe; wherein the anti-freeze flows through the one-way valve, the one-way valve preventing pool water from the swimming pool from entering the filtration pipe.
