Arrangement of two or more implants provided with growth-stimulating substance(s)
Abstract
Two or more implants ( 8, 9, 10 ) are arranged in succession in the jaw bone ( 1 ) and bear or comprise growth-stimulating substances ( 25 ), here called GSS, which, as a function of secretion of body fluid at the implants, are intended to be released and form new bone ( 11 - 15 ) around the implants. The implants are designed to work with a release process for GSS, permitting a leveling-out effect along the extent of the jaw bone in the horizontal and/or vertical direction and/or a level-raising effect in the vertical direction. In this way it is possible to achieve optimum positions for the implants without the risk of reduced stability and/or compromised esthetics.

An arrangement of two or more implants ( 8 , 9 , 10 ) arranged in succession in the jaw bone ( 1 ) and bearing or comprising growth-stimulating substance(s), here called GSS, which, as a function of secretion of body fluid at the implants, is/are intended to be released and form new bone ( 11 , 12 , 13 , 14 , 15 ) around the implants, characterized in that the implants are designed to work with a release process for GSS, permitting a leveling-out effect along the extent of the jaw bone in the horizontal and/or vertical direction and/or a level-raising effect in the vertical direction.

The arrangement as claimed in patent claim 1 , characterized in that, in the case where the jaw bone ( 1 ) has one or more recesses ( 31 , 32 ) in the horizontal section and one or more first implants ( 34 , 35 ) are arranged at one or more recesses, the release function is greater on or at the implant or implants fitted at the recess or recesses compared to the implant or implants arranged at a higher portion or higher portions ( 38 , 39 ) of the jaw bone.
3 . The arrangement as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the release function is designed to raise the level along the entire jaw bone ( 1 ).
4 . The arrangement as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the implants can be covered with the jaw bone's soft tissue and, if appropriate, the periosteum ( 16 ) belonging to the latter.
5 . The arrangement as claimed in patent claim 4 , characterized in that one or more strengthening elements, for example polymer membranes or titanium plates, are arranged in connection with the jaw bone and the soft tissue/periosteum ( 16 ).

The arrangement as claimed in patent claim 5 , characterized in that the strengthening element ( 27 , 46 ) or strengthening elements is/are of a temporary or permanent nature, and, in the case of a permanent nature, the element or elements is/are complementary elements which can be applied to a dental structure, for example a bridge ( 62 ) connectable to the implants.
7 . The arrangement as claimed in claim 5 , wherein each strengthening element ( 27 , 46 ) can be secured to the jaw bone by means of securing members, for example one or more screws ( 28 , 29 ).
8 . The arrangement as claimed in claim 5 , wherein the strengthening element ( 46 ) extends over the top face of the jaw bone or along the vertical side or sides of the jaw bone.
9 . The arrangement as claimed in patent claim 8 , characterized in that each strengthening element is provided with arm-shaped members ( 27 ) via which the strengthening element can be anchored to the jaw bone.
10 . The arrangement as claimed in claim 1 , wherein, in an initial stage, first implants ( 34 ) have first outer portions ( 34 a ) or outer surfaces which have a greater degree of exposure than outer portions or outer surfaces ( 36 b ) on second implants ( 36 ).Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
