Abstract
An apparatus for use in the game of pool. The apparatus comprises a substantially cubic block having at least one indented portion on at least one face of the substantially cubic block with pool chalk disposed in such indented portion. There is a gritted material used as a covering for at least one face of the substantially cubic block and a predetermined plurality of raised paper edges covering certain predetermined edge portions of the substantially cubic block for preventing scratching when setting the apparatus on a wooden surface.

exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . An apparatus for use in a game of pool, said apparatus comprising:
(a) a substantially cubic block having at least one indented portion on at least one face of said substantially cubic block with pool chalk disposed in said indented portion; (b) a gritted material used as a covering for at least one face of said substantially cubic block; and (c) a predetermined plurality of raised paper edges covering certain predetermined edge portions of said substantially cubic block for preventing scratching when setting said apparatus on a wooden surface.
2 . The apparatus, according to claim 1 , wherein said gritted material is disposed on a plurality of faces of said substantially cubic block.
3 . The apparatus, according to claim 2 , wherein a different textured gritted material is used on each of said plurality of faces of said substantially cubic block.
4 . The apparatus, according to claim 2 , wherein said gritted material is sandpaper.
5 . The apparatus, according to claim 4 , wherein a different texture sandpaper is used on each of said plurality of faces of said substantially cubic block.
6 . The apparatus, according to claim 1 , wherein said apparatus includes at least two indented portions.
7 . The apparatus, according to claim 6 , wherein a second indented portion is disposed on a radially opposed face of said at least one face of said substantially cubic block having said at least one indented portion disposed therein.
8 . The apparatus, according to claim 7 , wherein said second indented portion is covered with a gritted material which serves as a shaper for said apparatus.
9 . The apparatus, according to claim 1 , wherein said certain predetermined edge portions of said substantially cubic block includes four raised paper edges covering all edges of one face of said substantially cubic block.
10 . The apparatus, according to claim 1 , wherein said certain predetermined edge portions of said substantially cubic block includes all edges of said substantially cubic block.
