Abstract

A method and apparatus for selection of a modular sex toy are provided. In one embodiment, an apparatus suitable for use in sexual situations is provided. The apparatus includes a base module having a modular interface. The apparatus also includes a main tool interchangeably coupled to the modular interface of the base module. The apparatus further includes a housing interchangeably coupled to the main tool and surrounding exposed surfaces of the main tool. In other embodiments, the apparatus is provided with a base and modular attachments, including a motor and components coupling the motor to the main tool and any attachments. Such embodiments may also include a power supply In further embodiments, a method of selecting a sex toy by selecting components or characteristics is provided. In additional embodiments, a method of selecting a sex toy by responding to questions is provided. In other embodiments, a facility where modular sex toys may be assembled is provided.

1 . An apparatus suitable for use in sexual situations, comprising: 
 a control module having a motor therein and a modular interface;    a main tool interchangeably coupled to the modular interface of the control module, the main tool coupled to receive power and control signals from the control module;    a housing interchangeably coupled to the main tool and surrounding exposed surfaces of the main tool; and    a power supply.    
   
   
       2 . The apparatus of  claim 1 , wherein: 
 the power supply is included in the control module and uses battery power.    
   
   
       3 . The apparatus of  claim 1 , wherein: 
 the power supply is an electric cord coupled to the control module.    
   
   
       4 . The apparatus of  claim 1 , further comprising: 
 a remote control, the remote control operatively coupled to the control module.    
   
   
       5 . The apparatus of  claim 1 , further comprising: 
 a first attachment, the first attachment interchangeably coupled to the modular interface of the control module.    
   
   
       6 . The apparatus of  claim 6 , further comprising: 
 a second attachment, the second attachment interchangeably coupled to the modular interface of the control module.    
   
   
       7 . The apparatus of  claim 1 , wherein: 
 the main tool is a vibrating tool.    
   
   
       8 . The apparatus of  claim 1 , wherein: 
 the main tool is a swirling tool.    
   
   
       9 . The apparatus of  claim 1 , wherein: 
 the main tool is a spinning tool.    
   
   
       10 . The apparatus of  claim 5 , wherein: 
 the first attachment is a vibrating attachment.    
   
   
       11 . The apparatus of  claim 5 , wherein: 
 the first attachment is a spinning attachment.    
   
   
       12 . The apparatus of  claim 5 , wherein: 
 the first attachment is a swirling attachment.    
   
   
       13 . An apparatus for facilitating selection of a sex toy, comprising: 
 means for interviewing a prospective customer about aspects of the sex toy;    means for matching customer preferences from the interviewing to features of modular components available for assembly into a sex toy; and    means for determining a set of potential assembled sex toys including modular components matched by the means for matching.    
   
   
       14 . The apparatus of  claim 13 , further comprising: 
 means for presenting the set of potential assembled sex toys to the prospective customer.    
   
   
       15 . The apparatus of  claim 14 , further comprising: 
 means for presenting the set of potential assembled sex toys to the prospective customer.    
   
   
       16 . An apparatus suitable for use in sexual situations, comprising: 
 a base module having a modular interface;    a main tool interchangeably coupled to the modular interface of the base module; and    a housing interchangeably coupled to the main tool and surrounding exposed surfaces of the main tool.    
   
   
       17 . The apparatus of  claim 16 , wherein: 
 the apparatus is a personal massage tool.    
   
   
       18 . The apparatus of  claim 16 , further comprising: 
 a power supply;    and wherein:    the base module includes a motor; and    the main tool is coupled to the motor to receive power from the motor.    
   
   
       19 . The apparatus of  claim 16 , further comprising: 
 an attachment, the attachment interchangeably coupled to the modular interface of the base module.    
   
   
       20 . The apparatus of  claim 16 , further comprising: 
 a first attachment, the first attachment interchangeably coupled to the modular interface of the base module.    
   
   
       21 . The apparatus of  claim 20 , further comprising: 
 a second attachment, the second attachment interchangeably coupled to the modular interface of the base module.    
   
   
       22 . The apparatus of  claim 16 , wherein: 
 the main tool includes beads.

 the housing has a smooth exterior surface.
