Claims

Abstract

A wall structure for restricting a hot-gas path in a gas turbine or in a combustion chamber includes a first wall segment having a first face and a second wall segment having a second face and disposed adjacent to each other in a connection area. A first face is disposed at a distance across from the second face so as to form a gap leading from an inside of the wall segments facing the hot-gas path to an outside of the wall segments facing away from the hot-gas path, wherein each of the first and second faces has a receiving groove having an opening, a bottom portion and two opposing groove walls open towards the gap. A sealing element having a thickness is disposed in the receiving grooves so as to bridge the gap. A first ratio of a distance measured at the groove bottom of each of the receiving grooves between the two respective opposing groove walls to a thickness of the sealing element is equal to or greater than 1.1.

         18 . A wall structure for restricting a hot-gas path in a gas turbine or in a combustion chamber, the wall structure comprising: 
 a first wall segment having a first face;    a second wall segment having a second face, each of the first and second wall segments disposed adjacent to each other in a connection area so as to define an inside of the wall segments facing the hot-gas path and an outside of the wall segments facing away from the hot-gas path, the first face and second faces being disposed across from each other at a distance so as to form a gap leading from the inside to the outside, wherein each of the first and second faces has a receiving groove having an opening toward the gap, a groove bottom and two opposing groove walls; and    a sealing element having a thickness and disposed in the receiving grooves so as to bridge the gap,    wherein a first ratio of a distance measured at the groove bottom of at least one receiving groove between the two respective opposing groove walls to a thickness of the sealing element is equal to or greater than 1.1.    
     
     
         19 . The wall structure as recited in  claim 18 , wherein the two opposing groove walls of the at least one receiving groove extend parallel to each other and wherein the first ratio lies within a range from 2.5 to 3.5.  
     
     
         20 . The wall structure as recited in  claim 18 , wherein the at least one receiving groove has a conical cross section widening towards the opening and the two opposing groove walls extend to the groove bottom at a slant with respect to each other, and wherein the first ratio lies within a range from 1.2 to 1.9.  
     
     
         21 . The wall structure as recited in  claim 20 , wherein a second ratio of a width of the opening of the at least one receiving groove to the distance measured at the groove bottom lies within a range from 1.2 to 4.  
     
     
         22 . The wall structure as recited in  claim 20 , wherein a third ratio of a depth of the at least one receiving groove to the thickness of the sealing element lies within a range from 10 to 35.  
     
     
         23 . The wall structure as recited in  claim 18 , wherein the at least one receiving groove has a first conical cross section segment that widens towards the groove opening wherein the two opposing groove walls are slanted with respect to each other, and a second constant cross section segment extending from the first cross section segment to the groove bottom wherein the two opposing groove walls are parallel to each other.  
     
     
         24 . The wall structure as recited in  claim 23 , wherein the first ratio lies within a range from 1.2 to 1.9.  
     
     
         25 . The wall structure as recited in  claim 23 , wherein a second ratio of a width of the opening of the at least one receiving groove to the distance measured at the groove bottom lies within a range from 1.2 to 4.  
     
     
         26 . The wall structure as recited in  claim 23 , wherein a third ratio of a depth of the at least one receiving groove to the thickness of the sealing element lies within a range from 10 to 35.  
     
     
         27 . The wall structure as recited in  claim 23 , wherein a fourth ratio of a depth of the first conical cross section segment to a depth of the at least one receiving groove lies within a range from 0.1 to 0.8.  
     
     
         28 . The wall structure as recited in  claim 18 , wherein the groove bottom of the at least one receiving groove is rounded.  
     
     
         29 . The wall structure as recited in  claim 28 , wherein the rounded groove bottom includes a radius and wherein a fifth ratio of the radius to the distance measured at the groove bottom lies within a range from 0.1 to 0.5.  
     
     
         30 . The wall structure as recited in  claim 18 , wherein the sealing element has a rectangular cross section.  
     
     
         31 . The wall structure as recited in  claim 30 , wherein the rectangular cross section includes rounded-off corners.  
     
     
         32 . A wall structure for restricting a hot-gas path in a gas turbine or in a combustion chamber, the wall structure comprising: 
 a first wall segment having a first face;    a second wall segment having a second face, each of the first and second wall segments disposed adjacent to each other in a connection area so as to define an inside of the wall segments facing the hot-gas path and an outside of the wall segments facing away from the hot-gas path, the first face and second faces being disposed across from each other at a distance so as to form a gap leading from the inside to the outside, wherein each of the first and second faces has a receiving groove having an opening toward the gap, a groove bottom and two opposing groove walls; and    a sealing element having a thickness and disposed in the receiving grooves so as to bridge the gap,    wherein the first face has a recess on the inside of the first wall segment and wherein the second wall segment has a projection on the inside of the second wall segment that extends from the second face and protrudes into the recess in the first face, wherein the projection has a conical cross section that tapers towards the gap.    
     
     
         33 . The wall structure as recited in  claim 32 , wherein a first ratio of a distance measured at the groove bottom of at least one receiving groove between the two respective opposing groove walls to a thickness of the sealing element is equal to or greater than 1.1.  
     
     
         34 . The wall structure as recited in  claim 32 , wherein the projection has a projection length with which the projection extends from second face and an end disposed at the gap having an end thickness, and wherein a sixth ratio of the projection length to the end thickness lies within a range from 1.5 to 6.  
     
     
         35 . The wall structure as recited in  claim 32 , wherein the gap has a gap width between the projection and the recess, wherein the projection has an end disposed at the gap having an end thickness, and wherein a seventh ratio between the gap width and the end thickness of the projection lies within a range from 1.0 to 5.  
     
     
         36 . The wall structure as recited in  claim 32 , wherein a cone angle of the projection lies within a range from 2° to 60°.  
     
     
         37 . The wall structure as recited in  claim 18 , wherein the combustion chamber is part of a gas turbine.
