Abstract

A method and system for parking vehicles in a space saving manner. A first vehicle is positioned so that its driver side is substantially unobstructed and an operator can enter and exit the vehicle via its driver side. A second vehicle is positioned substantially parallel to the first vehicle with the passenger side of the second vehicle adjacent to and spaced at a close distance to the passenger side of the first vehicle. A third vehicle is positioned substantially parallel to the second vehicle with the driver side of the third vehicle adjacent to and spaced at a close distance to the driver side of the second vehicle. This pattern is repeated to achieve an efficient spacing of vehicles. The parking row of vehicles is preferably accessed from both sides in order to enable the space saving aspects of the present principles. The system for facilitating a space-saving arrangement of vehicles includes parallel lines for positioning adjacent vehicles and visible indicia for indicating a relative orientation of adjacent vehicles.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A method for parking a row of vehicles in a space-saving manner, the method comprising the steps of:
providing access to the row from both sides; positioning a first vehicle in the parking area, wherein a driver side of the first vehicle is substantially unobstructed so that an operator may enter and exit the first vehicle, said first vehicle entering the row from a first side; positioning a second vehicle substantially parallel to the first vehicle, wherein a passenger side of the second vehicle is adjacent to and spaced at a close distance from a passenger side of the first vehicle, said second vehicle entering the row from a second side opposite said first side; and positioning a third vehicle substantially parallel to the second vehicle, wherein a driver side of the third vehicle is adjacent to and spaced at a close distance from a driver side of the second vehicle, said third vehicle entering the row from said first side.

2 . The method according to claim 1 , further comprising the step of positioning the passenger side of the second vehicle at a distance of approximately four inches to twelve inches from the passenger side of the first vehicle.

3 . The method according to claim 1 , further comprising the step of positioning the driver side of the third vehicle at a distance of approximately two and one half to three feet from the driver side of the second vehicle.

4 . The method according to claim 1 , further comprising the step of positioning the driver side of the third vehicle at a distance from the driver side of the second vehicle sufficient for an operator to enter and exit the second and third vehicle.

5 . A method for parking a row of vehicles in a space-saving manner, the method comprising the steps of:
providing access to the row from opposing sides; positioning a first vehicle in the parking area facing in a first direction, wherein a first side of the first vehicle is substantially unobstructed so that an operator may enter and exit the first vehicle, said first vehicle entering the row from a side corresponding with said first direction; positioning a second vehicle substantially parallel to the first vehicle and facing in a second direction opposite the first direction, wherein a first side of the second vehicle is adjacent to and spaced at a close distance from a second side of the first vehicle, said second vehicle entering the row from the opposing side corresponding to said second direction; and positioning a third vehicle substantially parallel to the second vehicle and facing in the first direction, wherein a first side of the third vehicle is adjacent to and spaced at a second distance from said second side of the second vehicle, wherein said first distance is smaller than said second distance, said third vehicle entering the row from the side corresponding to said first direction.

6 . The method according to claim 5 , further comprising the step of positioning the first side of the second vehicle at a distance of approximately four inches to twelve inches from the second side of the first vehicle.

7 . The method according to claim 5 , further comprising the step of positioning the first side of the third vehicle at a distance of approximately two and one half to three feet from the second side of the second vehicle.

8 . A method for parking a row of vehicles each having a driver side and a passenger side in a parking area in a space saving manner, the method comprising the steps of:
providing access to the row for parking from opposing sides; positioning a first vehicle in the parking area, wherein a driver side of the first vehicle is substantially unobstructed so that an operator may enter and exit the first vehicle; positioning a second vehicle substantially parallel to the first vehicle, wherein a passenger side of the second vehicle is adjacent to and spaced at a first distance from a passenger side of the first vehicle, said second vehicle accessing the row from a side opposite from said first vehicle; and positioning a third vehicle substantially parallel to the second vehicle, wherein a driver side of the third vehicle is adjacent to and spaced at a second distance from a driver side of the second vehicle, said third vehicle accessing the row from a side opposite from said second vehicle.
