Abstract
The present invention relates to a limb weight device comprising a body portion having a weight section and a ring section. The weight section includes a plurality of longitudinally extending weights that are releasably retained in position. The ring section includes interlocking flexible fingers to enable the device to handle members of various sizes. The ring section also includes longitudinal grooves to minimize the pressure on the limb being retained in the ring section.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A limb weight device comprising a body member having an upper section defining at least one longitudinal opening for receiving a weight, said weight and openings defining corresponding configurations whereby the weight can fit into said openings, said weight and opening defining interengaging portions whereby when the weight is located in said opening it will be retained therein, the body member further defining a ring portion adjacent said upper section including downwardly and inwardly extending flexible interlocking fingers whereby the ring portion can be varied in size to accommodate limbs of varying sizes.
2 . A limb weight device as set forth in claim 1 in which the device includes a plurality of longitudinal openings and corresponding weights.
3 . A limb weight device as set forth in claim 2 in which the weight device is for fingers and the longitudinal weight openings extend parallel to a finger when inserted in the ring portion.
4 . A finger weight device as set forth in claim 3 in which the ring portion includes longitudinally extending grooves located between the flexible fingers and the upper section for relieving finger pressure and improving circulation therein.
5 . A device as set forth in claim 4 in which the grooves are circumferentially spaced about approximately the upper half of the ring portion.
6 . A finger weight device as set forth in claim 3 in which the interengaging portions retaining the weights in position in the longitudinally openings consists of a groove defined by said weight and a projection depending from a wall of the longitudinally opening.
7 . A finger weight device as set forth in claim 6 in which the weight defines a groove at each end to facilitate insertion and removal of a weight into its longitudinal opening.
8 . A limb weight device as set forth in claim 2 in which the longitudinal openings are cylindrical and the weights are cylindrical and of a size to fit into its respective opening.
9 . A limb weight device as set forth in claim 2 in which the upper portion of the body is generally triangular in shape and there are three longitudinal openings provided therein in which two openings are located adjacent to the ring portion and a third opening that is located outwardly of said two openings.
10 . A limb weight device as set forth in claim 1 in which the fingers are generally triangular in shape thereby interfitting better to retain the device in position on the finger in which it is located.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
