Abstract

The apparatus is an improvement in utility from an old apparatus. This apparatus provides operator two different angles, one angle to be used for large knifes or honing the blade. The additional angle is used for thin blades and realignment of blade edges. An additional improvement is the addition of a shear sharpening apparatus creating a versatile apparatus. An additional improvement is the utility of the housing unit. The housing unit is versatile where the user can mount to a fixed position or can hand-held. No other apparatus exist using this utility.

       2 . We claim the Utility of this apparatus. The invention of using two different fixed angles on a single unit which allows versatile for the thickness of knife blades. The Utility of the Quad Rod Jr Manual Knife Sharpener with built in Scissors/shear sharpener body holding the Quad Rod Sharpening System is unlike any other sharpening system existing today. The apparatus is an improvement in utility from an old apparatus. This apparatus provides operator two different angles, one angle to be used for large knifes or honing the blade. The additional angle is used for thin blades and realignment of blade edges. An additional improvement is the addition of a shear sharpening apparatus creating a versatile apparatus. We claim the Utility of this apparatus using the following process “V” shaped slot  25 , positioned ¾″ in from the bottom right corner of  FIG. 1 , front view, cut through the total thickness of the housing material, measuring 1¼″ wide at the top point of the opening, and 1-⅛″ long×½″ wide at the base, is radius at the base that is easy to clean and provides an easy, open area for the drilling or molding of four each, individual, off-set, specifically same degree, angled, slotted areas for the proper intersection of 2″ long×⅛″ round, in-line, off-set, specifically hardened, stainless steel, carbide or diamond rods, set at specifically same-degree angles, inserted through a pressure-fit or molded method  15   e ,  15   f ,  15   g  and  15   h . (The 4 each off-set, in line, specifically same-degree, sharpening rod angles are used in preparation to create a final edge on stiff, wider-edged, angled knife blades, or on scalloped edge blades. For scalloped edge knives, the ⅛″ off-set, in-line, rod angles, make total surface contact within the total inner area of each scalloped edge, creating total edge realignment. The rod's radius will not damage the scalloped edge's serrated points. This feature is unique from any other form any other sharpener on the market.)
