Alloy, especially for spectacle frames

Abstract

An alloy, especially for spectacle frames, jewelry and for other metal parts to be worn on the body or on items of clothing in contact with said body. The alloy consists of the following components: Sn 8-14 wt. %, Zn 1-8 wt. %, Mn 0.001-3 wt. %, P 0.001 0.3 wt. %, Fe 0.001 0.5%, the remainder being Cu.

1 . An alloy for use for glasses frames, 
 characterized in that the alloy comprises the following composition (in weight-percent):                                                Sn   8 to 14%         Zn   1 to 8%         Mn   0.001 to 3%         P   0.001 to 0.3%         Fe   0.001 to 0.5%         Cu   remainder.                                                  
   
   
       2 . The alloy according to  claim 1 , 
 characterized in that the alloy has the following composition (in weight-percent):                                                Sn   11 to 13%         Zn   1.5 to 4%         Mn   0.001 to 0.1%         P   0.001 to 0.05%         Fe   0.001 to 0.02%         Cu   remainder.

       5 . Metal parts for pieces of clothing, manufactured using an alloy according to  claim 1 .  
   
   
       6 . An intermediate product or precursor material, particularly a wire, strip, or rod material, manufactured using an alloy according to  claim 1 .
