Abstract

A point of sale article such as a book includes a shrink wrapped cover at least substantially encasing the article, an aperture in the cover, and a reinforcement surrounding the aperture. The aperture enables a prospective purchaser to feel the article through the aperture.

1 . A point of sale article, comprising: 
 a shrink wrapped cover at least substantially encasing the article,    an aperture in the cover, and    a reinforcement surrounding the aperture.    
   
   
       2 . The article of  claim 1 , wherein the reinforcement is a label adhered to the cover.  
   
   
       3 . A method of wrapping an article for point of sale display, comprising: 
 (a) placing a protective sheet upon the article,    (b) shrink wrapping a plastics cover onto the article retaining the protective sheet thereunder,    (c) cutting an aperture in the plastics cover adjacent to the protective sheet such that the protective sheet protects the article from cutting, and    (d) withdrawing the protective sheet through the aperture.    
   
   
       4 . The method of  claim 3 , further comprising the step of attaching a reinforcement to the cover after step (c).  
   
   
       5 . The method of  claim 3  wherein the reinforcement is an adhesive label.  
   
   
       6 . The method of  claim 3 , further comprising the step of attaching a reinforcement to the cover before step (c).  
   
   
       7 . The method of  claim 6 , wherein step (c) cuts an aperture through the reinforcement.  
   
   
       8 . The method of  claim 4  wherein the reinforcement is an adhesive label.  
   
   
       9 . The method of  claim 8 , further comprising the step of attaching a reinforcement to the cover before step (c).  
   
   
       10 . The method of  claim 9 , wherein step (c) cuts an aperture through the reinforcement.
