A method of inhibiting adherence of a platelet to von Willebrand Factor in a subject, the method comprising administering to a subject in need thereof a polypeptide comprising the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:5 in an amount sufficient to inhibit adherence of said platelet to von Willebrand Factor.
