Abstract

Material for the treatment a distressed tree, and a treatment kit used in the treatment is accomplished by creating a mixture comprising a fertilizer and a growth hormone selected from a group of elements including naphthalene acetic acid, 3-indolebutyric acid, and derivatives thereof. The mixture of fertilizer and growth hormone are applied to a root area of the distressed tree. A kit for treating distressed trees may include a device for producing holes around the periphery of the tree, and introducing hormone, an amount of fertilizer, and water as necessary. Instructions are included in the kit as to the amount of hormone and fertilizer to be mixed and applied to the root structure of the tree, and the watering thereof.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A compound for treating a distressed tree comprising:
a mixture including a fertilizer and a growth hormone; and means for applying the mixture to a root area of the distressed tree.

2 . The compound of claim 1 , wherein the growth hormone selected from the group is at least one of naphthalene acetic acid, 3-indolebutyric acid, and derivatives thereof.

3 . The compound of claim 1 , wherein the distressed tree is a tree with an existing root structure.

4 . The compound of claim 1 , wherein the mixture comprises a mixture of powders.

5 . The compound of claim 1 , wherein the mixture comprises at least one liquid.

6 . The compound of claim 1 , wherein the fertilizer has a nitrogen content in the range of about 10 to about 25 percent by weight, a phosphorous content in the range of about 5 to about 20 percent by weight, and a potassium content in the range of about 5 to about 20 percent by weight.

7 . The compound of claim 1 , wherein the fertilizer comprises a liquid.

8 . A compound for treating roots of a distressed tree comprising:
a fertilizer; and a root growth hormone selected from the group consisting of naphthalene acetic acid, 3-indolebutyric acid, and derivatives thereof.

9 . The compound of claim 8 , wherein said root growth hormone comprises at least 0.1% by weight of one of a powder and a liquid.

10 . The compound of claim 8 , wherein a proportion of said root growth hormone is selected to provide an effective dosage of at least 0.355 milligrams per application site.

11 . The compound of claim 8 , wherein said fertilizer comprises a powder having a nitrogen content in the range of about 10 to about 25 percent by weight, a phosphorous content in the range of about 5 to about 20 percent by weight, and a potassium content in the range of about 5 to about 20 percent by weight.

12 . The compound of claim 8 wherein said fertilizer comprises a liquid.

13 . A kit for treating a distressed tree comprising:
a mixture comprising a fertilizer and a growth hormone; and a container for holding the mixture.

14 . The kit of claim 13 wherein the growth hormone is selected from the group consisting of naphthalene acetic acid, 3-indolebutyric acid, and derivatives thereof.

15 . The kit of claim 13 , including instructions for applying the mixture to and watering the distressed tree.

16 . The kit according to claim 13 , including devices for introducing the mixture into a tree root area.
