Abstract

The invention relates to an ankle guard having an anchoring mechanism attached to a side of a shoe and a plate removably attached to the anchoring mechanism. The anchoring mechanism has a plurality of securing locations for securing the plate to the anchoring mechanism, where the plate is removably attached to any one of the plurality of securing locations.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . An ankle guard, comprising:
a side of a shoe; an anchoring mechanism attached to said side; a plate removably attached to said anchoring mechanism; said anchoring mechanism having a plurality of securing locations for securing said plate to said anchoring mechanism; and said plate being removably attached to any one of said plurality of securing locations.

2 . The ankle guard according to claim 1 , wherein said plate is adjustably attached to said anchoring mechanism depending on which selected location from said plurality of locations.

3 . The ankle guard according to claim 1 , wherein said plurality of securing locations extend laterally across a width of said anchoring mechanism.

4 . The ankle guard according to claim 3 , wherein said plate is removably attached to any one location of said plurality of securing locations laterally extending across a width of said anchoring mechanism.

5 . The ankle guard according to claim 1 , wherein said anchoring mechanism is a rod.

6 . The ankle guard according to claim 5 , wherein said plurality of securing locations is a plurality of holes.

7 . The ankle guard according to claim 6 , wherein said plate further includes an aperture for permitting a fastener to pass through said plate and be secured to any hole of said plurality of holes

8 . The ankle guard according to claim 1 , wherein said plurality of securing locations extend vertically along a length of said anchoring mechanism.

9 . The ankle guard according to claim 8 , wherein said plate is removably attached to any one location of said plurality of securing locations vertically extending along a length of said anchoring mechanism.

10 . The ankle guard according to claim 1 , wherein said anchoring mechanism is a pad having hook or loop fasteners.

11 . The ankle guard according to claim 1 , wherein said side is an upper.

12 . The ankle guard according to claim 1 , wherein said side is a sole.

13 . The ankle guard according to claim 1 , wherein said plate has a surface large enough to substantially cover an ankle region of said side.

14 . The ankle guard according to claim 1 , wherein said side is an inner side of the shoe.

15 . The ankle guard according to claim 1 , wherein said side is an outside of the shoe.

16 . An ankle guard, comprising:
a side of a shoe; an anchoring mechanism attached to said side; a plate removably attached to said anchoring mechanism; said anchoring mechanism having a plurality of securing locations for securing said plate to said anchoring mechanism; said plurality of securing locations extend both laterally across a width and vertically along a length of said anchoring mechansim; and said plate is removably attached to any one location of said plurality of securing locations laterally extending across a width or vertically extending along a length of said anchoring mechanism.

17 . The ankle guard according to claim 16 , wherein said anchoring mechanism is a pad having hook or loop fasteners.

18 . The ankle guard according to claim 16 , wherein said plate has a surface large enough to substantially cover an ankle region of said side.

19 . The ankle guard according to claim 16 , wherein said side is an inner side of the shoe.

20 . An ankle guard, comprising:
a side of a shoe; an anchoring mechanism attached to said side; a plate removably attached to said anchoring mechanism; said anchoring mechanism having a plurality of securing locations for securing said plate to said anchoring mechanism; said plurality of securing locations is a plurality of holes extending in both a lateral direction and a vertical direction along a width and length of said anchoring mechanism; and said plate further includes an aperture for permitting a fastener to pass through said plate and be secured to any hole of said plurality of holes so that said plate is removably attached to any one location of said plurality of securing locations laterally extending across a width or vertically extending along a length of said anchoring mechanism.
