Fetal skin cell protein compositions for the treatment of skin conditions, disorders or diseases and methods of making and using the same

Abstract

The present invention provides methods and compositions designed for treating a subject suffering from skin conditions, disorders or diseases. The compositions include fetal skin cell proteins obtained from fetal skin cells after induced cell lysis.

1 . A composition for treating a subject suffering from a skin condition, disorder or disease comprising one or more fetal skin cell proteins and an acceptable carrier, wherein said fetal skin cell proteins are obtained from one or more fetal skin cells after cell lysis.  
   
   
       2 . The composition of  claim 1 , wherein said one or more fetal skin cells are obtained at 6-24 weeks of gestation.  
   
   
       3 . The composition of  claim 1 , wherein said one or more fetal skin cells are obtained at 12-16 weeks of gestation.  
   
   
       4 . The composition of  claim 1 , wherein said one or more fetal skin cells are obtained from whole fetal skin tissue.  
   
   
       5 . The composition of  claim 1 , wherein said one or more fetal skin cells are obtained from fetal skin tissue fragments.  
   
   
       6 . The composition of  claim 1 , wherein said one or more fetal skin cells are immortalized.  
   
   
       7 . The composition of  claim 1 , wherein said one or more fetal skin cells are obtained from a cell bank or a cell line.  
   
   
       8 . The composition of  claim 1 , wherein said one or more fetal skin cell proteins are purified.  
   
   
       9 . The composition of  claim 1 , wherein said one or more fetal skin cell proteins comprise one or more cellular components.  
   
   
       10 . The composition of  claim 1 , further comprising analgesics, anesthetics, anti-inflammatory agents, antihistamine agents, antioxidants, counter irritants, antimicrobial agents, antibacterial agents, antifungal agents, preservatives, protein stabilizing agents, protease inhibitors, skin protectant agents, sunscreens or combinations and mixtures thereof.  
   
   
       11 . The composition of  claim 1 , wherein said composition is suitable for topical, mucosal, ocular, rectal or vaginal administration.  
   
   
       12 . The composition of  claim 1 , wherein said composition is a water-in-oil emulsion or a water-in-oil emulsion based cream.  
   
   
       13 . The composition of  claim 1 , wherein said composition is an oil-in-water emulsion or an oil-in-water emulsion based cream.  
   
   
       14 . The composition of  claim 1 , wherein said one or more fetal skin cell proteins are incorporated in said composition at a concentration of between 0.001% to 95%.  
   
   
       15 . The composition of  claim 14 , wherein said one or more fetal skin cell proteins are incorporated in said composition at a concentration of between 0.01% to 5%.  
   
   
       16 . The composition of  claim 15 , wherein said one or more fetal skin cell proteins are incorporated in said composition at a concentration of between 0.05% to 0.25%.  
   
   
       17 . The composition of  claim 1 , wherein said cell lysis is induced and is not spontaneous.  
   
   
       18 . The composition of  claim 1 , wherein said cell lysis is performed mechanically, physically or chemically.  
   
   
       19 . The composition of  claim 18 , wherein said cell lysis is performed by one or more cycles of freeze-thawing.  
   
   
       20 . The composition of  claim 1 , wherein said cell lysis is performed with between 100 to 60,000,000 of fetal skin cells suspended in one milliliter of an aqueous system.  
   
   
       21 . The composition of  claim 20 , wherein said cell lysis is performed with between 10,000,000 to 20,000,000 of fetal skin cells suspended in one milliliter of an aqueous system.  
   
   
       22 . The composition of  claim 20 , wherein said aqueous system is a physiological buffer system.  
   
   
       23 . The composition of  claim 20 , wherein said aqueous system is a phosphate buffered saline system.
