Abstract
A composition for making up the eyes and skin comprised of a liquid carrier containing at least one film forming polymer, and dispersed therein at least one organic pigment forming the main color component of the composition as well as a method for improving the wear of cosmetic compositions for making up eyes and skin comprising formulating said products with one or more organic pigments in an amount sufficient to improve the wear of the cosmetic composition.

75 . A single phase anhydrous composition comprised of a liquid carrier, at least one silicone resin, at least one copolymer of silicone and C 1-10 alkyl acrylates or methacrylates, and from about 0.1-95% organic pigment.
76 . The composition of claim 75 wherein the silicone resin has the general formula:
[(RR′R″) 3 SiO 1/2 ] x [SiO 1/2 ]
wherein R, R′ and R″ are each independently a C 1-10 straight or branched chain alkyl or phenyl, and x and y are such that the ratio of (RR′R″) 3 SiO 1/2 units to SiO 2 units is about 0.5 to 1 to 1.5 to 1.
77 . The composition of claim 76 wherein the silicone resin R, R′ and R″ are methyl and the resin is trimethylsiloxysilicate.
78 . The composition of claim 76 wherein the silicone resin is selected from the group consisting of:
(a) R a R E b SiO [4-(a+b)/2] or (b) R 13 x R E y SiO 1/2 , wherein: R and R 13 are each independently an organic radical such as alkyl, cycloalkyl, or aryl; a is a number ranging from 0 to 3; b is a number ranging from 0 to 3; a+b is a number ranging from 1 to 3; x is a number from 0 to 3; y is a number from 0 to 3; and the sum of x+y is 3; and wherein R E is a carboxylic ester containing radical.
79 . The composition of claim 78 wherein the silicone resins are selected from the group consisting of diisostearoyl trimethylolpropane siloxysilicate, dilauroyl trimethylolpropane siloxysilicate, and mixtures thereof.
80 . The composition of claim 75 wherein the copolymer of silicone and C 1-10 alkyl acrylates or methacrylates is Polysilicone 6.
81 . The composition of claim 75 wherein the silicone resin is trimethylsiloxysilicate and the copolymer of silicone and C 1-10 alkyl acrylates or methacrylates is Polysilicone-6.
82 . The composition of claim 75 which is a lipstick.
83 . The composition of claim 75 which is a solid.
84 . The composition of claim 75 which is a semi-solid.
85 . The composition of claim 75 which is a liquid.
86 . A pigmented cosmetic composition comprising a liquid carrier comprising one or more volatile solvents, at least one silicone resin, at least one copolymer of silicone and ethylenically unsaturated monomers, and from about 0.1-95% by weight of the total composition of organic pigments.
87 . The composition of claim 86 wherein the cosmetic composition is a lipstick.
88 . The composition of claim 87 wherein the cosmetic composition is solid.
89 . The composition of claim 87 wherein the cosmetic composition is a semi-solid.
90 . The composition of claim 86 wherein the volatile solvents are comprised of volatile silicones or volatile paraffinic hydrocarbons.
91 . The composition of claim 90 wherein the volatile silicones are volatile cyclic or linear silicones.
92 . The composition of claim 86 wherein the volatile solvent comprises isododecane, isohexadecane, or mixtures thereof.
93 . The composition of claim 86 wherein the volatile solvent comprises cyclomethicone.
94 . The composition of claim 86 wherein the volatile solvent comprises a linear volatile silicone.
95 . The composition of claim 86 wherein the polymer of silicone and ethylenically unsaturated monomers the ethylenically unsaturated monomers are C 1-10 alkyl acrylates or methacrylates.
96 . The composition of claim 95 wherein the polymer of silicone and C1-10 alkyl acrylates or methacrylates is Polysilicone-6.
97 . The composition of claim 86 which is transfer resistant.
99 . An anhydrous single phase pigmented cosmetic composition comprising trimethylsiloxysilicate, Polysilicone-6, from about 0.1-95% by weight of the total composition of organic pigments, and a volatile solvent.
