Air distribution apparatus
Abstract
An air distribution apparatus can include an air distribution housing with an outer wall and an interior area. If provided with a housing, the air distribution apparatus further includes a duct that can be pivotally connected to the housing and configured to pivot about an axis from a retracted position to an extended position. A portion of the duct can be received in the interior area of the housing in the retracted position and the portion of the duct can extend outside of the interior area in the extended position. In further examples, the air distribution apparatus can comprise an adapter configured to be attached with respect to an opening of an air distribution housing. A duct can be pivotally connected to the adapter and configured to pivot about an axis from a retracted position to an extended position with respect to the adapter.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . An air distribution apparatus comprising:
an air distribution housing including an outer wall and an interior area; and a duct pivotally connected to the housing and configured to pivot about an axis from a retracted position to an extended position, wherein a portion of the duct is received in the interior area of the housing in the retracted position and the portion of the duct extends outside of the interior area in the extended position.
2 . The air distribution apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the duct includes an air outlet opening that faces a first direction in the retracted position and a second direction in the extended position, wherein the first direction extends at an angle with respect to the second direction.
3 . The air distribution apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the duct includes an air outlet opening and is provided with an air diverter apparatus adapted to selectively change the direction of air flowing from the air outlet opening.
4 . The air distribution apparatus of claim 3 , wherein the air diverter apparatus includes a plurality of vanes adapted to move with respect the duct.
5 . The air distribution apparatus of claim 4 , wherein the plurality of vanes are adapted to rotate with respect to the air outlet opening of the duct.
6 . The air distribution apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the duct has a substantially triangular shape with a first side, a second side and a third side.
7 . The air distribution apparatus of claim 6 , wherein the first side of the duct includes an air outlet opening, the second side of the duct includes an air inlet opening, and the third side of the duct includes a substantially closed portion.
8 . The air distribution apparatus of claim 7 , wherein the substantially closed portion comprises a substantially curved wall extending about the pivot axis.
9 . The air distribution apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the duct includes at least one stop adapted to limit pivoting movement of the duct with respect to the housing.
10 . The air distribution apparatus of claim 9 , wherein the at least one stop includes an extension stop configured to define a maximum extended position of the duct with respect to the housing.
11 . The air distribution apparatus of claim 9 , wherein the at least one stop includes a retraction stop configured to define a maximum retracted position of the duct with respect to the housing.
12 . The air distribution apparatus of claim 11 , wherein the retraction stop includes a protrusion that extends outside of the interior area of the housing in the retracted position and the extended position.
13 . An air distribution apparatus comprising:
an adapter configured to be attached with respect to an opening of an air distribution housing; and a duct pivotally connected to the adapter and configured to pivot about an axis from a retracted position to an extended position with respect to the adapter.
14 . The air distribution apparatus of claim 13 , further comprising an air distribution housing including an interior area and an outer wall defining an opening, wherein the adapter is attached with respect to the opening of the air distribution housing.
15 . The air distribution apparatus of claim 14 , wherein a portion of the duct is received in the interior area of the housing in the retracted position and the portion of the duct extends outside of the interior area in the extended position.
16 . The air distribution apparatus of claim 13 , wherein the duct includes an air outlet opening that faces a first direction in the retracted position and a second direction in the extended position, wherein the first direction extends at an angle with respect to the second direction.
17 . The air distribution apparatus of claim 16 , wherein the duct is provided with an air diverter apparatus adapted to selectively change the direction of air flowing from the air outlet opening.
18 . The air distribution apparatus of claim 13 , wherein the duct has a substantially triangular shape with a first side, a second side and a third side, wherein the first side of the duct includes an air outlet opening, the second side of the duct includes an air inlet opening, and the third side of the duct includes a substantially closed portion.
19 . The air distribution apparatus of claim 13 , wherein the duct includes at least one stop adapted to limit pivoting movement of the duct with respect to the adapter.
20 . The air distribution apparatus of claim 19 , wherein the at least one stop includes an extension stop configured to define a maximum extended position of the duct with respect to the adapter and a retraction stop configured to define a maximum retracted position of the duct with respect to the adapter.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
