Abstract

A spooled tubing unit is provided which permits simultaneous translation and rotation of continuous tubing to drill or conduct other downhole operations in a borehole in subterranean formations.

1 . An apparatus for conducting operations in a well comprising: 
 a. A substantially cylindrical canister having an internal compartment;    b. An injector head situated below said canister;    c. A length of continuous flexible tubing spooled within the internal compartment of said canister, wherein the distal end of said tubing extends through the base of said canister and said injector head; and    d. Means for rotating said canister and injector head.
