Free laying floor tile having pvc based backing material for preventing tile from slipping provided on back surface thereof

Abstract

A loose-lay floor tile which has on a back face a nonskid backing material obtained by solidifying a paste sol containing a plasticizer and one of polyvinyl chloride, copolymers of vinyl chloride and vinyl acetate and mixtures of polyvinyl chloride and polyvinyl acetate. Drawbacks of conventional acrylic mechanically foamed materials such as water absorption, resistance to water, resistance to alkali and strength of a foamed material are improved.

A loose-lay floor tile which has on a back face a nonskid backing material obtained by solidifying a paste sol comprising a plasticizer and at least one polyvinyl chloride-based resin selected from the group consisting of a polyvinyl chloride, a copolymer of vinyl chloride and vinyl acetate and a mixture of polyvinyl chloride and polyvinyl acetate.  
   
   
       9 . A loose-lay floor tile according to  claim 8 , wherein the paste sol further comprises a foam stabilizer of a hydrophobic type, and a foamed material obtained by mechanically foaming and then solidifying the paste sol so as to be disposed on the back face of the tile.  
   
   
       10 . A loose-lay floor tile according to  claim 8 , wherein the polyvinyl chloride-based resin is a copolymer of vinyl chloride and vinyl acetate which comprises about 3 to 10% by mole of vinyl acetate as a monomer unit.  
   
   
       11 . A loose-lay floor tile according to  claim 9 , wherein the polyvinyl chloride-based resin is a copolymer of vinyl chloride and vinyl acetate which comprises about 3 to 10% by mole of vinyl acetate as a monomer unit.  
   
   
       12 . A loose-lay floor tile according to  claim 8 , wherein the polyvinyl chloride-based resin is a mixture of polyvinyl chloride and polyvinyl acetate comprising about 1.5 to 5% by weight of polyvinyl acetate.  
   
   
       13 . A loose-lay floor tile according to  claim 9 , wherein the polyvinyl chloride-based resin is a mixture of polyvinyl chloride and polyvinyl acetate comprising about 1.5 to 5% by weight of polyvinyl acetate.  
   
   
       14 . A loose-lay floor tile according to  claim 9 , wherein the plasticizer is a phthalic acid-based plasticizer.  
   
   
       15 . A loose-lay floor tile according to  claim 10 , wherein the plasticizer is a phthalic acid-based plasticizer.  
   
   
       16 . A loose-lay floor tile according to  claim 11 , wherein the plasticizer is a phthalic acid-based plasticizer.  
   
   
       17 . A loose-lay floor tile according to  claim 12 , wherein the plasticizer is a phthalic acid-based plasticizer.  
   
   
       18 . A loose-lay floor tile according to  claim 13 , wherein the plasticizer is a phthalic acid-based plasticizer.  
   
   
       19 . A loose-lay floor tile according to  claim 15 , wherein a content of the phthalic acid-based plasticizer is about 50 to 200 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of the polyvinyl chloride-based resin.  
   
   
       20 . A loose-lay floor tile according to  claim 16 , wherein a content of the phthalic acid-based plasticizer is about 50 to 200 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of the polyvinyl chloride-based resin.  
   
   
       21 . A loose-lay floor tile according to  claim 20 , wherein the phthalic acid-based plasticizer is selected from the group consisting of di-2-ethylhexyl phthalate and diisononyl phthalate.  
   
   
       22 . A loose-lay floor tile according to  claim 20 , wherein the foam stabilizer of a hydrophobic type comprises a silicone-based surfactant.  
   
   
       23 . A loose-lay floor tile according to  claim 21 , wherein the foam stabilizer of a hydrophobic type comprises a silicone-based surfactant.  
   
   
       24 . A loose-lay floor tile according to  claim 9 , wherein the foamed material has an expansion rate of about 1.5 to 4.  
   
   
       25 . A loose-lay floor tile according to  claim 13 , wherein the foamed material has an expansion rate of about 1.5 to 4.  
   
   
       26 . A loose-lay floor tile according to  claim 24 , wherein the foamed material is disposed in a manner such that said foamed material forms stripes on the back face of said tile.  
   
   
       27 . A loose-lay floor tile according to  claim 18 , wherein the foamed material is disposed in a manner such that said foamed material forms stripes on the back face of said tile.
