Abstract

The current invention is an automatic fishing device for setting the hook upon fish strike. It embodies a weight, a weight support, an anchor for weight support, a fish line, two line guides, and a fish line coupler with a clip for connecting the weight to the fish line. The weight has a groove for engage the fish line, an opening for engage and disengage it to and from the weight support, and an anchor for the fish line coupler. The weight can be either supported or fall, determined by the position of the opening relative to the weight support. Movement of fish line caused by fish strike rotates the initially supported weight to the fall. The falling weight will drag the fish line downward, effectively pulling the line and setting the hook.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . An automatic fishing device being able to be adapted onto a fishing assembly, said fishing assembly consists of a fishing line attached to a rod, at least a fishing line guide being attached to said rod; at least a fishing hook attached to said fishing line, at least a sinker attached to said fishing line nearby said fishing hook, comprising:
a weight support means being attached to said fishing assembly; a weight member being detachably attached to said weigh support means and detachably attached to said fishing line, said weight member being able to rotate onto said weigh support means and to rotate out from said weigh support means, said weight member having at least a fishing line support means allowing said fishing line to be detachably attached to said weight member; whereby when said fishing hook and said sinker of said fishing assembly are placed in waters and said weight member is detachably attached on said weight support means, said fishing line of said fishing assembly is pulled tightly by said sinker of said fishing assembly, said fishing line of said fishing assembly is placed on said fishing line support means of said weight member, whereby when a pulling or relaxing of said fishing line of said fishing assembly by a biting fish in the waters will concurrently impart rotational movement on said weight member, said weight member will be detached from said weight support means and freely fall down and said fishing line of said fishing assembly will be suddenly pulled by the falling weight member to make a hooking effect on said biting fish.

2 . An automatic fishing device according to claim 1 , wherein said weight member has at lease one opening:
said opening is a cutoff extending from a center hole on said weight member to the edge of said weight member, matching a slightly smaller cylinder on said weight support means; or said opening is a female thread on a small center hole, matching a male thread on a small cylinder of said weight support means; or said opening is a magnetic block, matching a magnetic block on said weight support means, said magnetic block has a center hole, matching a slightly smaller center cylindrical pin on said weight support means; or said opening is a cutoff notch on edge of a small center hole of said weight member, matching a small guide pin extending from a small cylinder of said weight support means.

3 . An automatic fishing device according to claim 1 , wherein said weight support means is integrated into a fishing assembly.

4 . An automatic fishing device according to claim 1 , wherein said weight support means further includes a plurality of mounting means for adapting weight supporting means onto a fishing rod, said fishing rod can be multi-sectional construction rod or single piece construction rod.

5 . An automatic fishing device according to claim 1 , wherein said weight support means further includes a plurality of fishing line guides, said fishing line is threaded through said fishing line guide, said fishing line guides being facing downward or partially facing downward and partially facing upward.

6 . An automatic fishing device according to claim 2 , wherein said weight member being supported by said weight support means under said fishing assembly, or on the side of said fishing assembly, or symmetrically situated along the center line of said rod.

7 . An automatic fishing device according to claim 6 , wherein the shape of said weight member includes round shape, oval shape, fan shape and bar shape.

8 . An automatic fishing device according to claim 7 , wherein the material in the center portion of said weight member is heavier than the material on its edge.

9 . An automatic fishing device according to claim 4 , wherein said mounting means of said weight support means is a male tip, matching a female tip of a section of fishing rod, or a female tip, matching a male tip of a section of fishing rod.

10 . An automatic fishing device according to claim 2 , wherein said weight member has a fishing line coupler having a first end being attached to said weight member and a second end being detachably attached to said fishing line.
