Aluminum flake pigment, coating composition containing the same, ink composition, and coating film obtained therefrom

Abstract

In order to provide an aluminum flake pigment having excellent metallic luster, fine-grainedness and a plating-like appearance presenting silvery classiness, an aluminum flake pigment, obtained by grinding aluminum powder in an organic solvent, having an average thickness (t) in the range of 0.025 μm to 0.08 μm and an average particle diameter (D 50 ) in the range of 8 μm to 30 μm is provided. This aluminum powder is preferably prepared by an atomized method. A ball mill is preferably used as a grinder for performing this grinding.

1 . An aluminum flake pigment, obtained by grinding aluminum powder in an organic solvent, having an average thickness (t) in the range of 0.025 μm to 0.08 μm and an average particle diameter (D 50 ) in the range of 8 μm to 30 μm.  
     
     
         2 . The aluminum flake pigment according to  claim 1 , wherein said aluminum powder is prepared by atomization method.  
     
     
         3 . A paint composition containing the aluminum flake pigment according to  claim 1 , a binder and a solvent.  
     
     
         4 . An ink composition containing the aluminum flake pigment according to  claim 1 , a binder and a solvent.  
     
     
         5 . A film obtained by applying the paint composition according to  claim 3  to a base and thereafter drying the paint composition.  
     
     
         6 . A film obtained by printing the ink composition according to  claim 4  to a base and thereafter drying the ink composition.  
     
     
         7 . A paint composition containing the aluminum flake pigment according to or  claim 2 , a binder and a solvent.  
     
     
         8 . An ink composition containing the aluminum flake pigment according to or  claim 2 , a binder and a solvent.
