Method and arrangement in fibre-like product processing
Abstract
A method and an arrangement in processing a fibre-like product. When the first product ( 3 a ) ends a new product ( 3 b ) is guided to a process unit and further through it. The new product ( 3 b ) is guided to be ready in the vicinity of the unit. The invention comprises a gripping unit ( 14 ) having a backing surface ( 15 ) with a curved portion. The new product ( 3 b ) is arranged to be pressed against the surface ( 15 ). When the first product ( 3 a ) ends the locking between the new product ( 3 b ) and the curved portion of the surface ( 15 ) and the portion in front thereof is released first, whereby the new product ( 3 b ) straightens out and the first end of the product ( 3 b ) moves on. Only thereafter the locking is released for other portions of the surface, whereby the tail end of the first product ( 3 a ) draws along a new product ( 3 b ) at a speed equal to that of the line.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A method in connection with processing a fibre-like product, in which method a first fibre-like product is guided from delivery of the fibre-like product via a process-implementing unit forward in the process and when the first fibre-like product ends a new fibre-like product is guided to the process-implementing unit and further through it, whereby the new fibre-like product is guided in advance to be ready in the vicinity of the process-implementing unit, the method comprising steps in which the new fibre-like product is gripped such that the new fibre-like product is locked into place and forced in a curved position onto a backing surface, and as the first fibre-like product ends the locking is released first from the base of the curved portion and in front thereof, whereby the new fibre-like product straightens out and the first end of the product moves forward and thereafter the locking is released from other portions of the backing surface, whereby the tail end of the first fibre-like product draws the new fibre-like product onwards at a speed equal to that of the line.
2 . A method as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the new fibre-like product is gripped by means of difference in pressure.
3 . A method as claimed in claim 2 , wherein the difference in pressure is produced by suction effect.
4 . A method as claimed in claim 2 , wherein locking is released with the assistance of blowing.
5 . An arrangement in connection with processing a fibre-like product, in which a first fibre-like product is arranged for being guided from delivery of the fibre-like product via a process-implementing unit forward in the process and when the first fibre-like product ends a new fibre-like product is arranged for being guided to the process-implementing unit and further through it, whereby the new fibre-like product is arranged for being guided in advance to be ready in the vicinity of the process-implementing unit, the arrangement comprising a gripping unit having a backing surface provided with a curved portion, the new fibre-like product being arranged for locking into place such that the product is pressed against the backing surface in a curved shape defined by the backing surface, and as the first fibre-like product ends the locking between the new fibre-like product and the curved portion of the backing surface and the portion in front thereof is arranged for being released first, whereby the new fibre-like product straightens out and the first end of the product moves onwards and only thereafter the locking is arranged for being released from other portions of the backing surface, whereby the tail end of the first fibre-like product is arranged to draw along the new fibre-like product at a speed equal to that of the line.
6 . An arrangement as claimed in claim 5 , wherein the locking between the new fibre-like product and the backing surface is arranged for being provided by means of difference in pressure.
7 . An arrangement as claimed in claim 6 , wherein the difference in pressure is arranged for being produced by suction effect.
8 . An arrangement as claimed in claim 6 , wherein the release of the locking is arranged for being carried out with the assistance of blowing effect.
9 . A method as claimed in claim 3 , wherein locking is released with the assistance of blowing.
10 . An arrangement as claimed in claim 7 , wherein the release of the locking is arranged for being carried out with the assistance of blowing effect.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
