Golf standbag support mount assembly

Abstract

A golf bag includes a body having opposite upper and lower ends and a compartment therebetween configured to contain golf clubs, and a support mount coupled to the body. The support mount includes a plurality of interlocking hinge elements, wherein a support leg is rotatably coupled to the support mount via the plurality of interlocking hinge elements. The leg is positionable in a stowed position when the body is in the standing position and a support position when the body is in the inclined position.

1 . A golf bag comprising: 
 a body comprising opposite upper and lower ends and a compartment therebetween configured to contain golf clubs;    a support mount coupled to said body, said support mount comprising a plurality of interlocking hinge elements; and    a support leg rotatably coupled to said support mount via said plurality of interlocking hinge elements, said leg positionable in a stowed position when said body is in said standing position and a support position when said body is in said inclined position.    
   
   
       2 . A golf bag in accordance with  claim 1  wherein said support mount is coupled to said body proximate said upper end.  
   
   
       3 . A golf bag in accordance with  claim 1  wherein said support mount comprises a central bridge portion and first and second hinge members on respective ends of said bridge portion, said plurality of interlocking hinge elements located on each of said first and second hinge members.  
   
   
       4 . A golf bag in accordance with  claim 1  wherein said body comprises an internal stay, said support mount coupled to said internal stay.  
   
   
       5 . A golf bag in accordance with  claim 1  further comprising a hinge bracket connecting said support leg to said support mount, said hinge bracket comprising a plurality of interlocking hinge elements interfacing with said plurality of interlocking hinge elements of said support mount.  
   
   
       6 . A golf bag in accordance with  claim 5  wherein said interlocking hinge elements comprise a plurality of fingers extending therefrom, and wherein said plurality of fingers of said support mount interface with said plurality of fingers of said bracket members.  
   
   
       7 . A golf bag in accordance with  claim 5  further comprising an actuator arm rotatably mounted to said hinge bracket.  
   
   
       8 . A golf bag in accordance with  claim 1  wherein said plurality of interlocking hinge elements comprises a piano hinge.  
   
   
       9 . A golf bag comprising: 
 a body comprising opposite upper and lower ends and a compartment therebetween configured to contain golf clubs;    a support mount coupled to said body, said support mount comprising first and second hinge members, each of said first and second hinge members comprising a plurality of interlocking hinge elements; and    a first support leg and a second support leg rotatably coupled to a respective one of said hinge members via said interlocking hinge elements, said first and second support legs positionable in a stowed position when said body is in said standing position and a support position when said body is in said inclined position.    
   
   
       10 . A golf bag in accordance with  claim 9  wherein said support member is coupled to said body proximate said upper end.  
   
   
       11 . A golf bag in accordance with  claim 9  wherein said support member further comprises a central bridge portion extending between said first and said second hinge members.  
   
   
       12 . A golf bag in accordance with  claim 9  wherein said body comprises an internal stay, said bridge portion coupled to said internal stay.  
   
   
       13 . A golf bag in accordance with  claim 9  further comprising a first and second hinge brackets mounting said first support leg and said second support leg, respectively, to said first and second hinge members, each said hinge bracket comprising a plurality of interlocking hinge elements interfacing with said plurality of interlocking hinge elements of said first and second hinge members, respectively.  
   
   
       14 . A golf bag in accordance with  claim 13  wherein said interlocking hinge elements comprise a plurality of fingers extending therefrom, and wherein said plurality of fingers of said support mount interface with said plurality of fingers of said bracket members.  
   
   
       15 . A golf bag in accordance with  claim 13  further comprising first and second actuator arms rotatably mounted to said first and second hinge elements, respectively.  
   
   
       16 . A golf bag in accordance with  claim 9  wherein said plurality of interlocking hinge elements comprises a piano hinge.  
   
   
       17 . A golf bag comprising: 
 a body comprising opposite upper and lower ends and a compartment therebetween configured to contain golf clubs;    a support mount coupled to said body, said support mount comprising first and second hinge members, each of said first and second hinge members comprising a plurality of interlocking hinge elements;    first and second hinge brackets coupled to said first and second hinge members, respectively, said first and second hinge brackets each comprising a plurality of interlocking hinge elements configured to rotatably mount to said interlocking hinge elements of said first and second hinge members; and    a first support leg and a second support leg coupled to a respective one of said first and second hinge brackets, said first and second support legs positionable in a stowed position when said body is in said standing position and a support position when said body is in said inclined position.    
   
   
       18 . A golf bag in accordance with  claim 17  wherein said support member is coupled to said body proximate said upper end of said bag.  
   
   
       19 . A golf bag in accordance with  claim 17  wherein said support member further comprises a central bridge portion extending between said first and said second hinge members.  
   
   
       20 . A golf bag in accordance with  claim 17  wherein said body comprises an internal stay, said bridge portion secured to said internal stay.  
   
   
       21 . A golf bag in accordance with  claim 17  wherein said plurality of interlocking hinge elements comprises a piano hinge.  
   
   
       22 . A golf bag in accordance with  claim 17  wherein said plurality of interlocking hinge elements of said hinge brackets dovetails said plurality of interlocking hinge elements of said hinge members.  
   
   
       23 . A golf bag in accordance with  claim 17  wherein said plurality of interlocking hinge elements of said hinge brackets and said plurality of interlocking hinge elements of said hinge members comprise fingers extending therefrom.
