Expandable drywall corner piece

Abstract

A drywall corner piece with flange surfaces forming a near right angle forming a cup for fitting over drywall corners where the web sections of the flanges have at least one strain relief channel allowing the piece to flex to different angles.

1 . A drywall end piece comprising: 
 a plurality of flanges forming a corner cup for fitting over drywall corners;    said flanges being connected to form a continuous structure;    said flanges having at least one strain relief channel running from an outer edge of said flange into said flange, whereby said strain relief channel allows said flanges to flex to different angles.    
   
   
       2 . The drywall end piece of  claim 1  wherein at least one of said flanges contains a plurality of holes.  
   
   
       3 . The drywall end piece of  claim 1  further comprising a tab attached to said structure.  
   
   
       4 . The drywall end piece of  claim 1  comprising three flanges.  
   
   
       5 . The drywall end piece of  claim 1  comprising two flanges.  
   
   
       6 . The drywall end piece of  claim 1  further comprising a hole in said flanges at one end of said strain relief channel.  
   
   
       7 . The drywall end piece of  claim 1  having three flanges configured to fit a 3-way corner.  
   
   
       8 . The drywall end piece of  claim 1  having two flanges configured to fit a 2-way corner.  
   
   
       9 . A drywall corner piece fitting an outside 3-way corner comprising, in combination: 
 three flanges connected to each other with arcuate sections to form a near right-angle corner piece, the outer and inner surfaces of said corner piece being continuous, said corner piece having a rounded nose;    a strain relief channel in each of said flanges running from an outer edge of said flange toward said nose.    
   
   
       10 . The drywall corner piece of  claim 9  further comprising a hole in each of said flanges located at an end of said relief channel.  
   
   
       11 . The drywall corner piece of  claim 9  further comprising a plurality of holes in at least one of said flanges.  
   
   
       12 . The drywall corner piece of  claim 9  further comprising at least one tab extending from one of said arcuate sections.  
   
   
       13 . The drywall corner piece of  claim 12  comprising two tabs.  
   
   
       14 . A drywall corner piece comprising a plurality of flanges arranged to cap a drywall corner wherein each of said flanges contains a strain relief channel.  
   
   
       15 . The drywall corner piece of  claim 14  wherein each of said flanges is connected to another of said flanges with an arcurate section.  
   
   
       16 . The drywall corner piece of  claim 15  wherein each of said arcurate sections contains a tab.  
   
   
       17 . The drywall corner piece of  claim 14  wherein said strain relief channel contains a hole at one end with a diameter larger than said strain relief channel.  
   
   
       18 . The drywall corner piece of  claim 14  wherein at least one of said flanges contains a plurality of holes.  
   
   
       19 . The drywall corner piece of  claim 14  comprising three of said flanges positioned to fit a 3-way corner.  
   
   
       20 . The drywall corner piece of  claim 14  comprising two of said flanges positioned to fit a 2-way corner.
