Abstract
The present invention relates to a light reflective and insulating paperboard honeycomb material that can be used for packaging applications. The material comprises a core portion including a honeycomb material having two faces and two face members. Each face member has an inner surface and an outer surface. Each inner surface is laminated on a respective face of the core portion and at least one of the outer surfaces is light color. It also relates to a method to manufacture the light reflective and insulating paperboard honeycomb material and a container manufactured with the latter.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A light reflective and insulating paperboard honeycomb material, comprising:
a core portion including a honeycomb material having two faces; and two face members, each having an inner surface and an outer surface, each of said inner surface being laminated on a respective face of said core portion and at least one of said outer surfaces being light color.
2 . A light reflective and insulating paperboard honeycomb material as claimed in claim 1 , wherein said light color is white.
3 . A light reflective and insulating paperboard honeycomb material as claimed in claim 1 , wherein said face members are flat linerboards.
4 . A light reflective and insulating paperboard honeycomb material as claimed in claim 1 , wherein said core portion further comprises at least one linerboard laminated on one of said face of said honeycomb material, one of said face member being laminated on said at least one linerboard.
5 . A light reflective and insulating paperboard honeycomb material as claimed in claim 1 , wherein said core portion is made from kraft paper.
6 . A light reflective and insulating paperboard honeycomb material as claimed in claim 1 , wherein at least one of said face members comprises a linerboard having an inner and an outer surfaces and a light color sheet laminated on said outer surface, said inner face being laminated on said core portion.
7 . A light reflective and insulating paperboard honeycomb material as claimed in claim 1 , wherein at least one of said face members comprises a linerboard having an inner and an outer surfaces, said outer surface being light color coated and said inner face being laminated on said core portion.
8 . A light reflective and insulating paperboard honeycomb material as claimed in claim 1 , wherein said core portion is light color.
9 . A light reflective and insulating paperboard honeycomb material as claimed in claim 1 , wherein at least a portion of said paperboard material is resin impregnated.
10 . A light reflective and insulating paperboard honeycomb material as claimed in claim 1 , wherein said material is at least one of recyclable and biodegradable.
11 . A light reflective and insulating paperboard honeycomb material as claimed in claim 1 , wherein said material is used for packaging applications.
12 . A method to provide a reflective and insulating material, comprising:
providing a core portion including a honeycomb material having two faces; providing two face members, each having an inner surface and an outer surface, at least one of said outer surfaces being light color; and laminating each of said inner surface of said face members on a respective face of said core portion.
13 . A method as claimed in claim 12 , wherein said light color is white.
14 . A method as claimed in claim 12 , wherein said face members are flat linerboards.
15 . A method as claimed in claim 12 , further comprising
providing at least one linerboard having an inner surface and an outer surface; providing at least one light color sheet; and laminating said at least one light color sheet on said outer surface of said linerboard;
thereby forming at least one of said face member.
16 . A method as claimed in claim 12 , further comprising
providing at least one linerboard having an inner surface and an outer surface; and coating at least one of said outer surface of said linerboard with a light color product;
thereby forming at least one of said face member.
17 . A method as claimed in claim 12 , further comprising resin impregnating at least a portion of said paperboard material.
18 . A method as claimed in claim 12 , further comprising forming a packaging container with said reflective and insulating material.
19 . A paperboard container having side walls, a bottom wall, and a top wall, at least one of said wall comprising:
a core portion including a honeycomb material having two faces; and two face members, each having an inner surface and an outer surface, each of said inner surface being laminated on a respective face of said core portion and at least one of said outer surfaces being light color.
20 . A paperboard container as claimed in claim 19 , wherein said light color is white.
21 . A paperboard container as claimed in claim 19 , wherein said core portion further comprises at least one linerboard laminated on one of said face of said honeycomb material, one of said face member being laminated on said at least one linerboard.
22 . A paperboard container as claimed in claim 19 , wherein said core portion is made from kraft paper.
23 . A paperboard container as claimed in claim 19 , wherein said face members are flat linerboards.
24 . A paperboard container as claimed in claim 19 , wherein at least one of said face members comprises a linerboard having an inner and an outer surfaces and a light color sheet laminated on said outer surface, said inner surface being laminated on said core portion.
25 . A paperboard container as claimed in claim 19 , wherein at least one of said face members comprises a linerboard having an inner and an outer surfaces, said outer surface being light color coated and said inner face being laminated on said core portion.
26 . A paperboard container as claimed in claim 19 , wherein at least a portion of said paperboard material is resin impregnated.
27 . A paperboard container as claimed in claim 19 , wherein said core portion is light color.
28 . A paperboard container as claimed in claim 19 , wherein said material is at least one of recyclable and biodegradable.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
