Tooth whitening products

Abstract

A tooth whitening product is provided. The tooth whitening product includes a strip of material sized to cover the front surface of one or more teeth and soft tissue adjacent the front surface of the teeth. A thin layer of a tooth whitening composition is disposed on the strip of material. The whitening composition contains a peroxide active with a concentration greater than about 7.5% by weight of the tooth whitening composition, and the tooth whitening composition has a peroxide density less than about 1.3 mg/cm 2 .

         21 . A tooth whitening product, comprising: 
 a strip of material sized to cover the front surface of one or more teeth and soft tissue adjacent the front surface of the one or more teeth:    a layer of a tooth whitening composition disposed on said strip of material, wherein said tooth whitening composition comprises a peroxide active having a concentration greater than about 7.5% and less than about 16% by weight of said tooth whitening composition; and    wherein said tooth whitening composition has a peroxide density less than about 2.4 mg/cm 2 .    
     
     
         22 . The tooth whitening product of  claim 21 , wherein said peroxide density is between about 0.01 mg/cm 2  and about 2.4 mg/cm 2 .  
     
     
         23 . The tooth whitening product of  claim 22 , wherein said peroxide density is between about 0.05 mg/cm 2  and about 2.4 mg/cm 2 .  
     
     
         24 . The tooth whitening product of  claim 21 , wherein said tooth whitening composition further comprises water.  
     
     
         25 . The tooth whitening product of  claim 24 , wherein the amount of said water is between about 0% and about 92% by weight of said whitening composition.  
     
     
         26 . The tooth whitening product of  claim 25 , wherein the amount of said water is between about 60% and about 90% by weight of said whitening composition.  
     
     
         27 . The tooth whitening product of  claim 21 , wherein said tooth whitening composition further comprises a gelling agent.  
     
     
         28 . The tooth whitening product of  claim 27 , wherein the amount of said gelling agent is between about 1% and about 10% by weight of said tooth whitening composition.  
     
     
         29 . The tooth whitening product of  claim 28 , wherein the amount of said gelling agent is between about 3% and about 6% by weight of said tooth whitening composition.  
     
     
         30 . The tooth whitening product of  claim 21 , wherein the layer of tooth whitening composition is less than about 0.3 mm.  
     
     
         31 . The tooth whitening product of  claim 21 , herein the thickness of said layer of tooth whitening composition is between about 0.008 mm and about 0.1 mm.
