Storage caddle accessory

Abstract

A storage caddie and container combination has a container with a bottom, an upstanding side wall, and an interior bounded by at least the bottom and the side wall. A storage caddie is attached to an exterior surface of the side wall and has at least one storage receptacle. The caddie is constructed and arranged so that it can be removably mounted to the container so that the at least one storage receptacle is accessible at the exterior surface of the side wall.

1 . A storage caddie and container combination comprising: 
 a container having a bottom, an upstanding contiguous side wall, and an interior bounded by at least the bottom and the upstanding contiguous side wall;    a storage caddie having at least one storage receptacle; and    a mounting means constructed and arranged to removably mount the at least one storage receptacle to the upstanding contiguous side wall of the container.    
   
   
       2 . The combination of  claim 1 , wherein the mounting means comprises: 
 a hook tab depending and spaced from a rear side of the storage caddie for hooking the storage caddie to the container.    
   
   
       3 . The combination of  claim 2 , wherein the upstanding side wall of the container includes a rim and wherein the hook tab is spaced from the rear side of the storage caddie to receive the rim between the hook tab and the rear side of the storage caddie to attach the storage caddie to the container.  
   
   
       4 . The combination of  claim 1 , wherein the storage caddie comprises: 
 a closed bottom having a perimeter; and    a contiguous side wall extending upward from the perimeter of the bottom.    
   
   
       5 . The combination of  claim 4 , wherein the mounting means comprises: 
 a hook tab depending and spaced from a rear side of the contiguous side wall of the storage caddie for hooking the storage caddie to the side wall of the container.    
   
   
       6 . The combination of  claim 5 , wherein the container comprises a laundry basket.  
   
   
       7 . The combination of  claim 4 , wherein the contiguous side wall of the storage caddie includes a front wall section and a rear wall section, the front wall section being shorter than the rear wall section, and wherein the mounting means includes a hook tab depending and spaced from the rear wall section of the contiguous side wall of the storage caddie for hooking the storage caddie to the side wall container.  
   
   
       8 . The combination of  claim 4 , wherein the bottom of the storage caddie and the contiguous side wall of the storage caddie are formed from a rigid material.  
   
   
       9 . The combination of  claim 1 , wherein the storage caddie comprises: 
 a flexible base panel having a perimeter edge; and    an outer panel attached along a portion of the perimeter edge to the base panel forming at least one storage receptacle between the base panel and the outer panel, the storage receptacle having an open top.    
   
   
       10 . The combination of  claim 9 , wherein the storage receptacle comprises: 
 closure means for closing at least a portion of the open top of the storage receptacle.    
   
   
       11 . The combination of  claim 9 , wherein the mounting means is selected from a group consisting of a pair of tie strings extending from the base panel of the storage caddie, a hook and loop fastener strap extending from the base panel of the storage caddie, an elastic strap extending from the base panel of the storage caddie, and a plurality of hook tabs extending from the base panel of the storage caddie.  
   
   
       12 . The combination of  claim 9 , wherein the upstanding contiguous side wall of the container includes a rim with at least one aperture positioned to receive the mounting means to attach the storage caddie to the container.  
   
   
       13 . The combination of  claim 9 , wherein the upstanding contiguous side wall of the container includes at least one aperture positioned to receive the mounting means to attach the storage caddie to the container.  
   
   
       14 . The combination of  claim 9 , wherein the mounting means comprises a portion of the base panel constructed and arranged to extend into and rest within the interior of the container and support the storage caddie on the container such that the storage receptacle is supported on the exterior of the container.  
   
   
       15 . The combination of  claim 1 , wherein the container comprises a hard sided cooler having a lid.  
   
   
       16 . The combination of  claim 15 , wherein the storage caddie comprises: 
 a base panel;    an outer panel attached to the base panel forming at least one storage receptacle between the base panel and the outer panel, the storage receptacle having an open top; and    a lid cover attached to the base panel and attachable to the lid of the hard sided cooler.    
   
   
       17 . The combination of  claim 16 , wherein the lid cover has a plurality of elastic straps positioned and arranged to extend beneath respective corners of the lid when attached to the lid of the hard sided cooler.  
   
   
       18 . The combination of  claim 16 , wherein the lid cover further comprises a cup holder pocket positioned to rest within a corresponding cop holder recess in the lid.  
   
   
       19 . The combination of  claim 16 , wherein the hard sided cooler further comprises at least one of a handle, a latch, and a grip, and wherein the base panel further comprises at least one aperture to permit access to the at least one of the handle, the latch, and the grip.  
   
   
       20 . The combination of  claim 1 , further comprising: 
 a shoulder strap coupled to at least a portion of the storage caddie and constructed and arranged for carrying both the container and the storage caddie.    
   
   
       21 . The combination of  claim 1 , wherein the storage caddie further comprises: 
 a bottom panel constructed and arranged for being received beneath the container; and    a side wall extending from the bottom panel, the side wall having at least one storage receptacle.    
   
   
       22 . The combination of  claim 22 , wherein the bottom panel of the storage caddie further comprises: 
 a plurality of wheels depending from the bottom panel of the storage caddie.    
   
   
       23 . A storage caddie and laundry basket combination comprising: 
 a laundry basket having a bottom, an upstanding contiguous side wall, and an interior bounded by at least the bottom and the upstanding contiguous side wall; and    a storage caddie having at least one receptacle and configured and arranged to be removably mounted to the upstanding contiguous side wall of the laundry basket with the receptacle suspended from and accessible from an exterior of the side wall.    
   
   
       24 . The combination of  claim 23 , wherein the storage caddie comprises: 
 a closed bottom having a perimeter;    a rigid contiguous side wall extending upward from the perimeter of the bottom of the storage caddie; and    a hook tab depending and spaced from the rigid contiguous side wall of the storage caddie for hooking the storage caddie to the upstanding contiguous side wall of the container.    
   
   
       25 . The combination of  claim 24 , wherein the rigid contiguous side wall of the storage caddie comprises: 
 a front wall section and a rear wall section, the front wall section being shorter than the rear wall section.    
   
   
       26 . The combination of  claim 23 , wherein the storage caddie comprises: 
 a flexible base panel having a perimeter edge; and    an outer panel lying adjacent at least a part of the base panel and attached along a portion of the perimeter edge of the base panel forming the at least one storage receptacle between the base panel and the outer panel.    
   
   
       27 . The combination of  claim 26 , further comprising an attachment device selected from a group consisting of a pair of tie strings extending from the flexible base panel, a hook and loop fastener strap extending from the flexible base panel, an elastic strap extending from the flexible base panel, and a plurality of hook tabs extending from the flexible base panel.  
   
   
       28 . The combination of  claim 26 , further comprising a portion of the base panel constructed and arranged to rest within the interior of the laundry basket and support the storage caddie on the laundry basket such that the storage receptacle is supported on the exterior of the laundry basket.  
   
   
       29 . The combination of  claim 23 , wherein the storage caddie comprises: 
 a flexible base panel having a perimeter edge and a pair of ends;    a first outer panel lying adjacent a first one of the pair of ends of the base panel and attached along a first portion of the perimeter edge of the base panel to form a first storage receptacle between the base panel and the first outer panel;    a second outer panel lying adjacent a second one of the pair of ends of the base panel and attached along a second portion of the perimeter edge of the base panel to form a second storage receptacle between the base panel and the second outer panel, the first and second storage receptacles having openings facing one another; and    wherein a portion of the base panel located between the first outer panel and the second outer panel is constructed and arranged to rest within the interior of the laundry basket and support the first storage receptacle on a first exterior side of the laundry basket, and support the second storage receptacle on a second exterior side of the laundry basket opposite the first exterior side of the laundry basket.    
   
   
       30 . A storage caddie and hard sided cooler combination comprising: 
 a hard sided cooler having a bottom, an upstanding contiguous side wall, a pivotable lid, and an interior bounded by the bottom, the upstanding side wall, and the lid; and    a storage caddie having at least one storage receptacle and configured and arranged to removably mount the storage caddie to the upstanding contiguous side wall of the hard sided cooler with the storage receptacle suspended from and accessible from the exterior of the side wall.    
   
   
       31 . The combination of  claim 30 , wherein the storage caddie comprises: 
 a flexible base panel; and    an outer panel lying adjacent at least a portion of the base panel and attached to the base panel forming the at least one storage receptacle between the base panel and the outer panel.    
   
   
       32 . The combination of  claim 31 , wherein the storage caddie further comprises a lid cover having a plurality of elastic straps positioned and arranged to extend beneath respective corners of the lid when attached to the lid.  
   
   
       33 . The combination of  claim 32 , wherein the lid cover further comprises a cup holder pocket positioned to nest within a corresponding cup holder recess in the lid.  
   
   
       34 . The combination of  claim 30 , wherein the storage caddie further comprises: 
 a shoulder strap coupled to at least a portion of the storage caddie and constructed and arranged for carrying both the hard sided cooler and the storage caddie.    
   
   
       35 . The combination of  claim 30 , wherein the storage caddie further comprises: 
 a bottom panel constructed and arranged for being received beneath the hard sided cooler.    
   
   
       36 . The combination of  claim 35 , wherein the bottom panel of the storage caddie further comprises a plurality of wheels depending from the bottom panel of the storage caddie.
